Issue 1 retry

In the neon-soaked cyberpunk slums of Vena City, Arjun and Jose lead their crew—Jimenez, Orton, and Yanira—on a heist against rival gang The New Blood. After scouting the warehouse, Orton hacks the systems and kills the lights. The crew storms in with a phosphorus grenade and heavy firepower. When reinforcements flood the warehouse and overwhelm them, Orton remotely hijacks the ceiling turret to fight on their side. But gang leader Skittles slips out with a cybernetic briefcase. Arjun gives chase through the slums on his motorcycle, shoots out Skittles' rear wheel, and stands over the fallen gang leader with his pistol raised—briefcase between them, the fate of both gangs hanging in the balance.

PAGE 1

Panel 1:Extreme bird's-eye view of Vena City at night. Towering glass skyscrapers pierce the clouds, their surfaces covered in massive holographic advertisements. Flying vehicles weave between buildings. The upper city glitters like a jewel while far below, the streets darken into a maze of rusted rooftops and industrial smog.

Narrator:“Vena City. Where you're either dying rich — or dying trying.”

PAGE 2

Panel 1:Two futuristic motorcycles race side by side through a wide elevated highway. On the left, a sleek yellow-and-black bike with a rider in a dark jacket — Arjun, leaning forward aggressively. On the right, an almost identical red-and-black motorcycle — Jose, riding with practiced ease. The city blurs behind them.

Panel 2:The road ahead transitions from gleaming corporate architecture to crumbling, rust-stained buildings. Exposed pipes run along grimy walls. A flickering neon sign hangs crooked over a shuttered storefront. The motorcycles enter the frame from behind, moving into this darker district.

Narrator:“The clean city ends. The real one begins.”

Panel 3:Arjun and Jose park their motorcycles on a concrete ledge overlooking a large, battered warehouse below. They stand at the railing, staring down. The warehouse is surrounded by armed figures on patrol. Several battered vehicles are parked outside. A faded spray-painted logo marks the warehouse wall — a bleeding drop of red. The New Blood's mark.

PAGE 3

Panel 1:Jimenez, Orton, and Yanira arrive at the overlook on foot from behind. Jimenez grins broadly, his goofy happy expression wide and unguarded. Orton carries a laptop bag over one shoulder. Yanira walks with a hand resting on the hilt of a black-and-yellow katana sheathed at her side.

Panel 2:Jose turns to face the group, arms crossed, scanning each of them with a confident look. Behind him, the warehouse glows faintly in the distance below.

“Jose: Took you guys long enough. You ready for this?”

Panel 3:Arjun tilts his head back slightly, a wide grin spreading across his face, eyes sharp and alive with anticipation.

“Arjun: I was born ready.”

Panel 4:Jimenez leans on the railing, peering down at the warehouse with his characteristic goofy smile, but his brow is furrowed slightly with genuine curiosity.

“Jimenez: You're my best friend, Jose. But — they really holding that much cash?”

Panel 5:Yanira stands with arms crossed, eyes fixed on the warehouse below, expression cool and dry.

“Yanira: Yeah. I need cash for the new MX MK II Phantom Blade. That thing is so badass.”

Panel 6:Orton stands slightly apart from the others, a slight amused smile on her face, shaking her head slowly.

“Orton: When has Jose's intel ever been wrong?”

PAGE 4

Panel 1:Jose turns back toward the warehouse below, a sharp confident smirk on his face. His silhouette is framed against the glow of the slum below.

“Jose: Intel is good. But I don't need money to rough up some New Bloods.”

Panel 2:Arjun throws his head back in a loud laugh, expression open and energized.

“Arjun: Damn right! So what's the plan?”

Panel 3:Jose reaches into a dark duffel bag at his feet. His hand closes around something large inside. The rest of the crew leans in slightly to watch.

“Jose: Simple. Starts with this.”

Panel 4:INSERT shot: Jose's gloved hand holds a large, heavily modified grenade. Its casing is dark metal with glowing blue phosphorus chemical vents along the side. The pin ring glints under the ambient neon light.

Panel 5:Jose holds the grenade up so the crew can see it, his expression turning serious and focused. He points one finger toward the warehouse below with his other hand.

“Jose: Step one: we throw this in, set the place on fire. Then we take the cash.”

Panel 6:Jose's expression hardens. His jaw tightens. He looks directly at the group, the grenade still in hand.

“Jose: Secondary objective: take out their leader. Skittles. Aka Darian Figueroa.”

PAGE 5

Panel 1:Jimenez's wide goofy smile fades entirely. His brows pull together and he looks down at the ground, a genuine sadness crossing his face for the first time.

“Jimenez: Skittles was my best friend when we were kids. Can't believe it's come to this.”

Panel 2:Yanira turns her head toward Jimenez with a flat, dry look.

“Yanira: Babe, everyone's your best friend.”

Panel 3:Jimenez shakes his head firmly, one hand raised palm-out to protest. Then his goofy grin returns, wide and proud.

“Jimenez: No, he really was. Trust me. Everyone wants to be my best friend.”

Panel 4:Jose sighs visibly, pinching the bridge of his nose with two fingers. He turns away from Jimenez toward Orton.

“Jose: Orton — we need you to hack their systems first. Kill the lights. Check for defenses.”

Panel 5:Orton is already crouched with her laptop open on the concrete railing, fingers moving rapidly across the keyboard. Lines of green code scroll across the glowing screen. Her eyes are locked on the display with intense focus.

“Orton: On it!”

PAGE 6

Panel 1:Close-up on Orton's laptop screen. Dense scrolling code fills the display. A red wireframe schematic of the warehouse interior is visible in one corner, with a blinking icon indicating a ceiling-mounted turret.

“Orton: On it, Ok found a ceeiling mounted cybertech turret. Shutting it off right now, along with the lights!”

Panel 2:Inside the warehouse: a wide shot of the interior suddenly plunging into complete darkness. Armed figures freeze mid-step. Emergency red strip-lights flicker weakly along the floor. Dust motes hang in the air. The ceiling-mounted turret's indicator light goes dark.

Panel 3:Back at the overlook. Jose watches the warehouse go dark below and breaks into a wide satisfied smile. The glow of the darkened building reflects off his face.

“Jose: We won’t need long. Let’s do it!”

Panel 4:Wide shot: the crew moves as a unit down a concrete stairway toward the warehouse. Arjun leads at the front, Jose beside him. Jimenez, Yanira, and Orton follow behind. All of them are in motion, bodies low and fast.

Panel 5:Jose crouches at the side of a warehouse window, phosphorus grenade in hand. He pulls the pin ring with his teeth, arm cocked back. His expression is calm and focused.

Panel 6:The grenade sails through the broken window in a spinning arc. A trail of faint blue chemical light follows its path. Inside the warehouse, silhouettes of gang members are caught frozen in the dark.

PAGE 7

Panel 1:FULL PAGE PANEL — massive explosion of blue-white phosphorus fire erupts inside the warehouse. The blast tears through the interior, blue flames spreading across machinery, crates, and walls. Silhouetted figures scatter in every direction. The fire casts a violent electric-blue light through every crack and broken window of the building, illuminating the slum street outside in an eerie glow.

PAGE 8

Panel 1:Arjun, Jose, Jimenez, and Yanira burst through the warehouse entrance into the burning blue-lit interior. Arjun has his pistol raised. Jose holds twin gold Desert Eagle pistols, one in each hand. Yanira's black-and-yellow katana is drawn. Jimenez grips his phosphorus revolver. All four charge forward in a dynamic action pose.

Panel 2:Jose fires both gold Desert Eagles simultaneously. Muzzle flashes burst from both barrels. Two New Blood members in the background stumble backward in the chaos.

Panel 3:Yanira spins in a wide slash, her black-and-yellow katana cutting through the air. Two attackers fall back from the blow. She follows the spin immediately into a powerful side kick, her foot connecting with a third gang member's chest.

Panel 4:More New Blood members pour through a rear door, weapons raised. Jimenez steps forward and raises his phosphorus revolver with both hands. He fires — bright blue rounds streak from the barrel and strike the incoming attackers, igniting them in the same eerie blue flame. His phosphorus revolver looks futuristic with the chamber having a blue liquid in it

Panel 5:Arjun, Jose, Jimenez, and Yanira are all pressed behind a large piece of industrial machinery. Bullets spark and ricochet off the metal surface above them. The warehouse is full of muzzle flashes and blue fire. They are outnumbered and pinned down.

“Jose: Orton! We need you out there, remember that turret on the ceiling?!”

Panel 6:Outside the warehouse, Orton crouches behind a concrete barrier, laptop open. She looks up from the screen with a wide grin, already working.

“Orton: Way ahead of you.”

PAGE 9

Panel 1:Inside the warehouse: the ceiling-mounted cybertech turret powers back on with a mechanical whir. Its indicator light glows red, then shifts to green. The barrel rotates with a heavy mechanical click, its targeting system scanning the room below.

Panel 2:The turret opens fire — not at Arjun's crew, but at the New Blood members across the warehouse. Rounds tear through their formation. Gang members dive and scatter in every direction. Crates explode. Blue fire spreads further.

Panel 3:Jose peeks out from behind cover and watches the turret work. A slow satisfied smile spreads across his face. Arjun crouches beside him, head turning toward the far end of the warehouse.

Panel 4:Through the smoke and chaos: a figure in a bright jacket — Skittles — sprints toward a side exit, a glowing futuristic cybernetic briefcase gripped in one hand. His face is turned away, in full flight.

Panel 5:Extreme close-up on Arjun's eyes, wide and locked on Skittles through the smoke. His pupils are sharp and focused.

“Arjun: There!”

Panel 6:Arjun vaults over the machinery cover and sprints full-speed toward the side exit, pistol in hand. Jose reaches out after him, mouth open in a shout.

“Jose: Arjun!”

PAGE 10

Panel 1:Outside the warehouse: Skittles mounts a sleek pink futuristic motorcycle parked at the side exit. The engine ignites with a roar, headlight blazing. Skittles looks over his shoulder — his face caught in the light, jaw set, desperate.

Panel 2:Arjun bursts out the side exit at a full sprint and locks eyes on his yellow-and-black motorcycle parked nearby. Skittles' pink bike is already screaming away down the slum street in the distance.

Panel 3:Wide dynamic shot: two motorcycles tear through narrow slum streets. Skittles' pink bike cuts a sharp corner ahead. Arjun's yellow-and-black bike is right behind, headlight cutting through the dark. Industrial pipes and flickering neon blur past on both sides.

Panel 4:Arjun draws his pistol with one hand while keeping the other on his handlebar. He squints, aiming carefully at the rear wheel of Skittles' pink motorcycle ahead. The gun is framed against the blur of the street.

Panel 5:Skittles' rear wheel erupts in sparks and shredded rubber. The pink motorcycle fishtails violently left then right. Skittles' body is thrown sideways as the bike loses all control and crashes hard across the pavement, sending him tumbling and skidding several feet. The cybernetic briefcase lands on the pavement beside him, glowing faintly.

Panel 6:Arjun's yellow-and-black motorcycle swings into a sideways skid across the pavement — an Akira-style slide — smoke and debris kicking up from under the wheels. The bike comes to a stop broadside. Arjun steps off slowly, pistol raised, walking toward the fallen Skittles. Skittles lies on the ground, battered and still, the glowing cybernetic briefcase inches from his hand. The two face each other on the empty neon-lit street. The briefcase sits between them.

Narrator:“Whatever happens next — determines everything.”
