KENMORE OF THE ORANGE & WHITE

Kenmore of the Orange & White

King Justin (who hates cats) and Queen Heather (who loves cats) stumble upon a tiny orange kitten, who softens the king's heart and the two become best friends. The queen desperately wants the kitten to love her, but the kitten loves the king more than anything. The king names the kitten "Kenmore" and as Kenmore grows into a mature cat, he and the king tease the queen about her always wanting Kenmore's affection; they playfully tell her that Justin is the "King of the Castle", Kenmore is the "Prince of the Palace" and Heather is just the "Bitch in the Basement"! But in the end, Kenmore and the king reassure her that they are a family that loves each other.

CHARACTERS

Kenmore

protagonist

Orange tabby cat with the tell-tale prominent "M" shape in his forehead fur, with pale white stripes throughout his orange fur coat.

King Justin

protagonist

He is a tall, handsome man with broad shoulders and a thick, stocky chest from being a wrestler in his youth. He has short, dark brown, almost black hair with dark brown eyes underneath thick, intense eyebrows and wears rectangle frame glasses; he is often mistaken for being a "Clark Kent" (Superman) look-alike. He has a thin beard that lines his cheeks, has a moustache, and a perfect huckleberry on his chin.

Queen Heather

protagonist

She is petite (5 foot 4 inches tall) with curvy hips, has blue-green eyes, with long, reddish-brown hair. With thin, soft eyebrows, she has mischievous and sultry eyes, but a soft, motherly smile on her heart-shaped face and wears cat-eye shaped glasses. She has a kind but feisty personality, and a nurturing but concerted demeanor.

PAGE 1

Panel 1:A sprawling castle courtyard bathed in morning sunlight. Manicured gardens stretch across the frame with stone pathways, flowering hedges, and a decorative fountain in the background. King Justin strides through the garden wearing a royal tunic and his signature rectangle-frame glasses, his broad shoulders and stocky chest evident as he walks with purpose. His dark brown hair catches the light, and his thick eyebrows are furrowed in concentration. Queen Heather follows a few paces behind, her petite frame elegant in a flowing royal gown, her reddish-brown hair catching the breeze. She wears cat-eye shaped glasses and has a soft, hopeful smile on her heart-shaped face.

Panel 2:A close-up of the stone pathway as King Justin's boot stops abruptly. Queen Heather steps beside him. Both look down at the ground where a tiny orange kitten with pale white stripes and a prominent M-marking on its forehead huddles against the base of a stone planter, shivering. The kitten's eyes are wide and frightened, its small body trembling.

Queen Heather: Oh! Justin, look—a kitten!

Panel 3:King Justin's face contorts in disgust. His thick eyebrows furrow even deeper, and his lips curl downward. He takes a step backward, his broad shoulders tensing. His moustache and thin beard frame his disapproving expression. Queen Heather's face brightens with delight, her mischievous blue-green eyes widening with joy.

King Justin: A cat? Absolutely not. Leave it. Queen Heather: But it's freezing! We can't just leave it!

Narrator:King Justin had despised cats his entire life.

Panel 4:Queen Heather kneels gracefully beside the tiny orange kitten, her reddish-brown hair falling forward as she extends her hand slowly toward the trembling animal. Her heart-shaped face is filled with maternal warmth, and her soft eyebrows are raised in gentle concern. The kitten sniffs her fingers cautiously, its small pink nose twitching. King Justin stands behind her, arms crossed over his broad chest, watching with visible irritation, his rectangle-frame glasses catching the light.

Queen Heather: There, there, sweet thing. You're safe now.

Panel 5:The tiny orange kitten suddenly bolts from Queen Heather's gentle approach and runs directly toward King Justin's legs. The kitten weaves between his boots, purring audibly, rubbing against his calves with obvious affection. King Justin's eyes go wide behind his glasses, his stern expression cracking with surprise. His hand instinctively reaches down, fingers hovering near the kitten's orange and white fur. Queen Heather watches from her kneeling position, her mouth slightly open in shock.

Panel 6:A close-up of King Justin's face. His thick eyebrows are now raised in astonishment. Behind his rectangle-frame glasses, his dark brown eyes soften as he looks down at the purring kitten. His stern moustache and thin beard frame a mouth that is slowly curving upward into an involuntary smile. He looks almost helpless against the kitten's charm, his entire demeanor shifting from disgust to wonder.

King Justin: Well... I suppose one night won't hurt.

PAGE 2

Panel 1:The interior of the castle's grand throne room. King Justin sits on his ornate throne, wearing his royal tunic and rectangle-frame glasses. The tiny orange kitten with white stripes and M-marking sits perched on the armrest beside him, as comfortable as a royal advisor. Queen Heather stands before the throne, her hands folded in front of her, her reddish-brown hair catching the chandelier light. Her blue-green eyes behind her cat-eye glasses are fixed on the kitten with longing. Several days have clearly passed—the kitten is noticeably larger, though still young.

Panel 2:Queen Heather approaches the throne with a small plate of fish. She extends it toward the orange kitten with a hopeful smile on her heart-shaped face. Her soft eyebrows are raised expectantly, and her sultry eyes are filled with hope. The kitten sniffs the plate, then deliberately turns its head away and nuzzles against King Justin's chest instead.

Queen Heather: Kenmore, would you like some fish, darling?

Panel 3:King Justin's face is a study in barely suppressed amusement. His thick eyebrows are raised, and the corners of his mouth twitch upward behind his moustache and thin beard. He looks directly at Queen Heather, his dark brown eyes sparkling with mischief behind his rectangle-frame glasses. The kitten, now named Kenmore, purrs contentedly in his lap, its orange and white fur clearly visible.

King Justin: I believe Kenmore has made his choice, my dear.

Narrator:The king and the kitten had become inseparable.

Panel 4:Queen Heather's expression shifts from hopeful to disappointed. She sets the plate of fish down on the stone floor beside the throne. Her mischievous eyes lose their sparkle, and her soft, motherly smile fades slightly. She straightens her posture, and her feisty demeanor is evident in the way she purses her lips. Her reddish-brown hair frames her heart-shaped face as she looks away from the throne.

Panel 5:The adult Kenmore—now much larger, fully grown into his orange tabby form with prominent white stripes and the distinctive M-marking on his forehead—lounges across King Justin's lap in the throne room. Weeks have passed. King Justin strokes the cat's fur, both of them looking supremely satisfied. In the background, Queen Heather approaches with a toy mouse dangling from a string, her face hopeful but resigned.

Queen Heather: Kenmore, would you like to play?

Panel 6:A close-up of adult Kenmore's face. The cat's yellow-green eyes stare directly at Queen Heather with complete indifference. His expression is one of supreme feline smugness. His pink nose twitches slightly, dismissing the toy mouse without interest. Behind him, King Justin's face is partially visible, his thick eyebrows raised in amusement.

PAGE 3

Panel 1:King Justin sits at the head of a long dining table in the castle banquet hall. Adult Kenmore stands on the table directly in front of him, his orange and white fur gleaming, the M-marking on his forehead prominent. Queen Heather sits at the opposite end of the table, her reddish-brown hair draped over her shoulders, her blue-green eyes behind her cat-eye glasses watching the scene with resignation. Servants stand against the walls, observing the unusual arrangement.

King Justin: Kenmore, my dear friend, shall we discuss the state of the kingdom?

Panel 2:Adult Kenmore's mouth opens as if he is about to respond. His yellow-green eyes are intelligent and amused. King Justin leans forward, his thick eyebrows raised with anticipation, his rectangle-frame glasses catching the candlelight. His broad shoulders are hunched slightly as he focuses entirely on the cat.

King Justin: You're absolutely right, Your Highness.

Panel 3:Queen Heather's face shows clear frustration and hurt. Her soft, motherly smile is gone, replaced by a tight-lipped expression. Her mischievous eyes are now sharp with irritation. She grips the edge of the table, her knuckles white. Her feisty personality is evident in the tension of her jaw.

Queen Heather: Am I invisible to both of you?

Panel 4:King Justin and adult Kenmore exchange a look. King Justin's thick eyebrows raise, and a smirk spreads across his face behind his moustache and thin beard. The M-marking on Kenmore's forehead seems to deepen as the cat's eyes narrow with playful mischief. Both appear to be enjoying the moment at Queen Heather's expense.

King Justin: I am the King of the Castle. Kenmore: And I am the Prince of the Palace.

Narrator:The teasing had begun in earnest.

Panel 5:Queen Heather's eyes widen in disbelief. Her blue-green gaze flicks between King Justin and Kenmore. Her heart-shaped face flushes with embarrassment and indignation. Behind her cat-eye glasses, her eyes are sharp with hurt.

Queen Heather: What are you two saying?

Panel 6:King Justin and adult Kenmore sit side by side at the table, their faces tilted toward Queen Heather. King Justin's expression is one of exaggerated mock seriousness, his thick eyebrows furrowed in feigned concern. Kenmore's yellow-green eyes are wide and innocent. Both look directly at Queen Heather as King Justin speaks. Behind them, the candlelit banquet hall stretches into shadow.

King Justin: Which makes you the Bitch in the Basement, my dear.

PAGE 4

Panel 1:The same banquet hall. Days have passed. Queen Heather sits alone at the long dining table, a plate of untouched food before her. Her reddish-brown hair is slightly disheveled, and her blue-green eyes behind her cat-eye glasses are downcast. Her heart-shaped face shows genuine sadness—not the exasperation of before, but real hurt. Her soft, motherly demeanor is subdued, her feisty energy dimmed. The candlelight casts long, lonely shadows across the table.

Narrator:The joke had worn thin.

Panel 2:King Justin walks down a stone corridor of the castle, his broad shoulders slightly hunched. His dark brown eyes behind his rectangle-frame glasses are troubled. His usual confident posture is gone. Adult Kenmore walks beside him, his orange and white fur visible in the torchlight. The cat's yellow-green eyes are also downcast, his usual smugness absent. Both look conflicted.

Panel 3:King Justin stands in the doorway of a quiet chamber, looking at adult Kenmore. His thick eyebrows are furrowed with genuine concern. Behind his glasses, his dark brown eyes show regret. His moustache and thin beard frame a mouth that is turned downward. Kenmore sits on the floor, his M-marked forehead tilted upward, his yellow-green eyes meeting King Justin's gaze.

King Justin: We've hurt her, haven't we?

Panel 4:Adult Kenmore's expression softens. His yellow-green eyes are no longer smug but reflective. His pink nose twitches thoughtfully. The cat walks slowly toward King Justin, his tail held high but his overall demeanor is gentle and apologetic. The M-marking on his forehead seems to emphasize his serious expression.

Kenmore: She's been nothing but kind to us.

Panel 5:King Justin kneels down, his broad shoulders lowering as he extends his hand toward adult Kenmore. His expression is determined now, his thick eyebrows raised with resolve. His rectangle-frame glasses catch the light as he looks at the cat. Behind him, the stone walls of the castle are visible.

King Justin: Then we must make it right.

Panel 6:Adult Kenmore nuzzles against King Justin's hand, but the cat's yellow-green eyes are looking toward the door—toward where Queen Heather is. The M-marking on his forehead is visible in profile. King Justin's face shows determination mixed with hope. The moment is one of quiet alliance between the two.

PAGE 5

Panel 1:The castle throne room at dusk. Queen Heather sits on a small chair away from the throne, her reddish-brown hair falling around her shoulders. Her blue-green eyes behind her cat-eye glasses are fixed on the floor. Her heart-shaped face shows resignation and hurt. Her soft, motherly demeanor is withdrawn, her usual feisty spirit absent. She sits in solitude, clearly isolated by the teasing.

Panel 2:King Justin and adult Kenmore enter the throne room. King Justin walks with his broad shoulders back, his posture confident but gentle. His rectangle-frame glasses reflect the dusk light. Adult Kenmore walks beside him, his orange and white fur glowing in the warm light. The M-marking on the cat's forehead is clearly visible. Both approach Queen Heather slowly and deliberately.

Panel 4:King Justin stands before Queen Heather, his broad shoulders relaxed and open. His thick eyebrows are no longer stern but gentle. Behind his rectangle-frame glasses, his dark brown eyes are sincere. His moustache and thin beard frame an expression of genuine remorse. Adult Kenmore sits directly beside King Justin, his yellow-green eyes fixed on Queen Heather with softness replacing the previous smugness. The M-marking on Kenmore's forehead is prominent.

King Justin: Heather, we owe you an apology. We were cruel. Kenmore: You deserve better than our teasing.

Panel 5:Queen Heather's face transforms. Her soft, motherly smile returns, genuine and warm. Her blue-green eyes behind her cat-eye glasses are now filled with tears of relief and joy. Her heart-shaped face is flushed with emotion. She stands up from her chair, her petite frame moving toward King Justin and Kenmore.

Queen Heather: I... I forgive you both.

Panel 6:King Justin, Queen Heather, and adult Kenmore come together in an embrace. King Justin's broad shoulders wrap around Queen Heather's petite frame. His rectangle-frame glasses are visible as he closes his eyes, his thick eyebrows relaxed. Queen Heather's reddish-brown hair is nestled against his chest. Adult Kenmore stands on his hind legs, his front paws on both of them, his orange and white fur blending with their clothing. The M-marking on Kenmore's forehead is visible as he looks content. The golden dusk light bathes the entire scene, casting long, warm shadows across the throne room floor.
