ACTION JACKSON

The Ebon Panopticon

Action Jackson's resurrection and supernatural attacks threaten New York while Detective Yuki Tanaka fights to stop him.

Write a complete 24-page dark supernatural-horror comic in English titled The Ebon Panopticon, set in New York in 2026. The only named cast members are Dark Lucy, Dark Lois, Dark Dodie, and Action Jackson. Dark Lucy, Dark Lois, and Dark Dodie are the three black-robed occult scholars of The Ebon Panopticon: Dark Lucy keeps forbidden supernatural records, Dark Lois interprets supernatural visions, and Dark Dodie enforces the council's judgments with a bone-handled staff. Keep their saved designs consistent. Action Jackson is a towering seven-foot voodoo skeleton made of aged stained bone wrapped in living black shadows, with violet light in his eye sockets and cursed black smoke pouring from his jaw. The council secretly collected his scattered fragments and controls his resurrection beneath New York so they can bind him as a supernatural weapon. The surprise reason Detective Yuki Tanaka is not featured is that the council erased her from the supernatural record before the ritual began: her case file is blank, her name is removed from forbidden archives, and she cannot perceive or enter the council's hidden ritual. Do not depict Detective Yuki Tanaka and do not make her a named cast member; convey her absence only through the empty case file and the council's dialogue. Do not introduce any other named characters. Unnamed civilians, commuters, emergency workers, and crowds may appear only as backgroundExtras and must never speak. Build a fast, dense escalation: the ritual begins successfully, Action Jackson obeys commands, Dark Lois foresees his rebellion, and the control fails. Action Jackson breaks free and turns against the council. At the climax, Dark Dodie and The Ebon Panopticon open the Nightmare Portal in the fictional Church of Saint Vesper from Issue 5. The council must expose and sever the black-violet resurrection anchor inside Action Jackson's rib cage. Action Jackson is sucked into the Nightmare Portal, dies, and is banished from Earth forever. New York is finally safe. End at sunrise with the ruined church silent, a final black bone fragment crumbling, and a faint supernatural hint underground. Keep the horror intense and atmospheric without graphic gore. Use literal, renderable panel descriptions, exact character lists limited to Dark Lucy, Dark Lois, Dark Dodie, and Action Jackson when visible, spoken lines in dialogues, and sparse captions in narration. Refer to The Ebon Panopticon and Action Jackson by their exact names in descriptions whenever they are visible.

Dark Dodie

Third scholar of The Ebon Panopticon and enforcer of its supernatural judgments

A broad-shouldered occult scholar with ash-gray skin, close-cropped black hair, a black robe with a high collar, and a bone-handled staff.

Dark Lucy

First scholar of The Ebon Panopticon and keeper of forbidden supernatural records

A gaunt elderly occult scholar with a shaved head, narrow spectacles, pale skin, and layered black robes marked with silver circular sigils.

Dark Lois

Second scholar of The Ebon Panopticon and interpreter of supernatural visions

A tall, severe occult scholar with long white hair, dark skin, black robes, and a black veil embroidered with small silver eyes.

PAGE 1

Panel 1:SPLASH PAGE. A vast underground chamber carved from black stone, deep beneath a New York street. The vaulted ceiling drips with moisture. At the center of the floor, a large circle of black stone is inlaid with silver voodoo glyphs that pulse with faint violet light. Scattered inside the circle: dozens of aged, stained bone fragments — ribs, vertebrae, finger bones, a cracked skull — arranged loosely as if a giant was disassembled and the pieces left in rough order. Three black-robed figures stand at three equidistant points around the circle. On the left: Dark Lucy, gaunt and bald, narrow spectacles catching violet light, layered black robes marked with silver circular sigils, hands clasped over an open leather-bound tome. At the top: Dark Lois, tall and severe, long white hair falling over her black veil embroidered with small silver eyes, both arms raised with palms facing inward toward the circle. On the right: Dark Dodie, broad-shouldered, ash-gray skin, close-cropped black hair, black robe with a high collar, bone-handled staff planted on the stone floor. Thick black candles ring the outer edge of the circle, their flames burning violet. The chamber walls are lined with iron shelves stacked with sealed leather records. The air is heavy with black smoke that curls along the floor.

Narrator:Midnight. Beneath New York. Beneath the Church of Saint Vesper. The Ebon Panopticon begins.

PAGE 2

Panel 1:Dark Lucy stands at her position in the ritual circle, holding the open leather tome. On the facing page of the tome, a diagram shows Action Jackson's skeletal form bound in silver chains, labeled in cramped occult script. Her narrow spectacles reflect the violet glyph-light from the floor.

Dark Lucy: Every fragment. Collected over four defeats. He never knew we were gathering him.

Panel 2:A wide shot of one of the iron shelves along the chamber wall. Dozens of sealed leather files sit in a row. One file at the end of the row sits apart from the others — its spine is blank, its label burned away, leaving only pale scorched leather. A small iron tag hangs from it reading only a string of erased characters, now illegible.

Dark Lois: The detective's file. Sealed and stripped. Portrait gone. Name gone. Record: void.

Panel 3:Dark Dodie stands at the ritual circle's edge, gripping the bone-handled staff with both hands. The staff's tip rests on the stone floor just outside the silver glyph line. Dark Dodie looks across the circle at the bone fragments with a flat, authoritative expression.

Dark Dodie: We bind him. He serves The Ebon Panopticon. A weapon does not need a history.

Panel 4:Close-up on the blank sealed file on the iron shelf. The scorched label is a rectangle of bare pale leather. The iron tag hangs still. Nothing is written anywhere on the exterior.

Narrator:The council's archive holds every supernatural record. Every record. Except one.

PAGE 3

Panel 1:Dark Lois stands with her eyes closed and her head tilted back. Her black veil with its embroidered silver eyes hangs perfectly still. Both hands are open at her sides, palms up. A faint shimmer of white light outlines her silhouette — the visual mark of a vision entering her.

Narrator:Dark Lois enters the vision-state.

Panel 2:A vision-panel rendered in washed-out grey and white tones: a detective's empty chair at an empty desk in an investigation room. The walls around the desk are bare — maps and case charts have been stripped away, leaving pale rectangular outlines on the plaster. The desk surface holds a blank notebook. The chair faces away from the viewer. No one sits in it.

Narrator:She cannot find the ritual. She cannot see us. She cannot enter this place.

Panel 3:Dark Lois opens her eyes. She faces Dark Lucy across the ritual circle. Her expression is composed and certain. One hand rises and points toward the sealed blank file on the iron shelf behind Dark Lucy.

Dark Lois: The vision confirms it. She sees nothing. The ritual is invisible to her entirely.

Panel 4:Dark Lucy looks up from her tome and speaks toward Dark Lois, one finger pressed to a line of text on the open page. Her narrow spectacles are low on her nose. Her expression is precise and unemotional.

Dark Lucy: The Panopticon removed her before we began. She is no longer in the supernatural record.

Panel 5:Wide shot of all three scholars at their positions around the ritual circle. The bone fragments inside the circle glow faintly with the reflected violet light from the inlaid glyphs. The chamber feels enormous around them. The black candle flames at the circle's edge all lean inward toward the bones.

Dark Dodie: Then we proceed without interference. Begin.

PAGE 4

Panel 1:Dark Dodie crosses to the chamber's heavy iron door — a thick rectangular slab set flush in the black stone wall. Dark Dodie grips the door's iron handle with one hand and pulls it shut with full body weight. The door meets the frame with a heavy finality. Two iron bolts are slid home with both hands.

Panel 2:Dark Dodie turns from the sealed door and raises the bone-handled staff with both hands above their head. The staff is a dark wood shaft capped with a carved bone handle in the shape of a clenched fist. Dark Dodie's face is set hard, eyes forward, feet planted wide.

Dark Dodie: By the authority of The Ebon Panopticon— —rise.

Panel 3:Ground-level view of the black stone floor inside the ritual circle. Black smoke crawls out of the hairline cracks between the stone tiles, moving in slow deliberate tendrils that reach toward the nearest bone fragments. The smoke has a density and direction — it moves with intention.

Panel 4:Wide view of the ritual circle from above. The bone fragments — ribs, vertebrae, the cracked skull, finger bones — begin lifting off the stone floor. Each fragment rises a few inches, trembling in the air, held up by writhing black smoke tendrils that wrap around them like hands. The violet glyphs in the floor glow brighter. Dark Lucy, Dark Lois, and Dark Dodie stand at their three positions watching, their robes motionless.

Narrator:The first fragments answer the call.

PAGE 5

Panel 1:The bone fragments are assembling in midair at the center of the ritual circle. Ribs curve into a cage shape. Vertebrae stack. A femur locks into a hip socket. Black shadow-tendrils thread between each piece like ligament, pulling the skeleton together. The shape is massive — already taller than any of the three scholars — and still incomplete, gaps in the ribcage, the skull not yet seated.

Narrator:Piece by piece. Shadow by shadow.

Panel 2:Dark Lucy and Dark Lois stand at their positions. Dark Lucy reads from the open tome with one finger tracing a line of text. Dark Lois holds both arms extended, palms toward the assembling skeleton, her silver-eyed veil catching the violet light. Between them, silver restraints — thin bands of engraved silver metal — float in the air, orbiting the growing skeleton.

Dark Lucy: Restraints at the wrists and collar. Dark Lois: The binding holds. Continue.

Panel 3:The skull — cracked and stained, aged brown bone — rises from the floor and seats itself atop the vertebrae stack with a grinding click. The jaw hangs open. The eye sockets are dark. The completed skeleton towers at seven feet, wrapped in living black shadows that shift and writhe across every bone surface. Silver restraints clamp around its wrists and across its collar bone. Violet light begins to gather in the hollow eye sockets — two pinpoints at first, then growing.

Panel 4:All three scholars stand around the towering assembled skeleton of Action Jackson, silver restraints clamped at his wrists and collar, violet ritual light blazing from the floor glyphs. Dark Dodie holds the bone-handled staff extended toward the figure. Dark Lucy reads from the tome. Dark Lois watches with both hands still raised. Action Jackson's skeleton stands motionless in the center, shadows writhing, eye sockets beginning to burn.

Dark Dodie: The binding is set. He is ours.

PAGE 6

Panel 1:Extreme close-up on Action Jackson's skull. The eye sockets blaze fully violet — two burning points of cold supernatural light. The jaw hangs wide open and thick cursed black smoke pours downward from between the teeth in a heavy rolling stream, spreading across the floor of the ritual circle.

Panel 2:Dark Lucy stands directly in front of Action Jackson, looking up at him. She is tiny compared to his seven-foot frame. One hand holds the open tome at her side. Her shaved head is level, her narrow spectacles reflect two violet points of light from his eye sockets. Her expression is flat and commanding.

Dark Lucy: Action Jackson. Kneel before The Ebon Panopticon.

Panel 3:Action Jackson's towering skeleton bends at the knee. One massive bone knee — wrapped in living black shadow — descends and strikes the stone floor of the ritual circle. His head is bowed, the violet eye sockets now angled downward. Cursed black smoke rolls across the floor around his kneeling form. The silver restraints at his wrists hold firm. Dark Dodie and Dark Lois watch from behind Dark Lucy, visible over her shoulders.

Panel 4:Dark Dodie looks across the kneeling Action Jackson toward Dark Lucy and Dark Lois. Dark Dodie's expression shows hard satisfaction. The bone-handled staff is planted firmly beside Dark Dodie's right foot. Dark Lois stands with her arms lowered now, her silver-eyed veil still.

Dark Dodie: The resurrection holds. Dark Lois: For now.

PAGE 7

Panel 1:Dark Lucy stands before a large rectangular ritual mirror mounted on the chamber wall. The mirror's frame is black iron carved with voodoo glyphs. The mirror's surface shows not the chamber but a different image: an empty New York street at night, viewed from above. Streetlights flicker along a wet avenue. The street is deserted.

Dark Lucy: Send your shadows through the streets. We watch. We assess the binding's reach.

Panel 2:Action Jackson stands at the center of the ritual circle, still bound by silver restraints. He raises both arms outward. From his rib cage, black shadow-tendrils extend outward and upward through the chamber ceiling — passing through the stone as if it were air — and disappear.

Panel 3:The ritual mirror's surface now shows a New York street at night. A crowd of people — anonymous figures in winter coats — walk under flickering streetlights. Then from the edges of the frame, black shadow-shapes pour into the street. The streetlights strobe and dim. The crowd scatters in all directions, running, mouths open in silent screams visible through the mirror's surface.

Panel 4:Dark Lois and Dark Dodie stand together watching the ritual mirror. Dark Lois's eyes are wide and intent, tracking every detail in the mirror's surface. Dark Dodie watches with arms folded, the bone-handled staff tucked under one arm.

Dark Dodie: The binding transmits command at full range. Dark Lois: The shadows obey without hesitation.

Panel 5:Wide shot of the chamber. Action Jackson kneels again at the ritual circle's center, arms at his sides, shadows settling back around his bones. Dark Lucy, Dark Lois, and Dark Dodie stand watching the ritual mirror together. The violet floor glyphs pulse. The chamber is still.

Dark Lucy: He is a weapon. Functional. Controlled.

PAGE 8

Panel 1:Dark Lois stands alone before the iron shelf holding the blank sealed file. She faces it directly. One hand reaches out and touches the scorched blank label with two fingertips. Her expression shifts — her eyes narrow, then go wide.

Panel 2:Close-up on the blank sealed file on the iron shelf. A faint orange glow emanates from inside the file — visible through the seam of the cover — as if the sealed pages burn from within, though no flame and no smoke are visible. The scorched blank label remains unchanged.

Narrator:The erased file burns without a flame.

Panel 3:Dark Lois turns from the shelf to face Dark Lucy and Dark Dodie, who stand near the ritual circle. Dark Lois's posture is straight and urgent. One hand points back toward the blank file on the shelf. Her expression is grave.

Dark Lois: Removing her from the record had a cost. We cannot predict what comes next.

Panel 4:Dark Lucy looks up from her tome. Her narrow spectacles are level. Her expression does not change — she is unmoved, authoritative, dismissive of the concern. One hand remains flat on the open tome page.

Dark Lucy: She cannot reach us. That is sufficient. Dark Dodie: The binding holds. Press forward.

PAGE 9

Panel 1:Dark Lucy stands directly behind the kneeling Action Jackson. She holds a length of black-violet thread — thin as wire, glowing faintly — in both hands. She threads it between two of Action Jackson's vertebrae at the base of his spine, tying a precise knot. Her expression is focused and exacting. The silver restraints at his wrists remain in place.

Dark Lucy: The binding tightens at the anchor point. He cannot act without our command.

Panel 2:Dark Dodie steps forward and speaks toward Action Jackson's bowed skull. Action Jackson's violet eye sockets are angled down at the floor. Dark Dodie plants the bone-handled staff on the stone and speaks with authority.

Dark Dodie: Stand. Walk to the eastern wall. Stop.

Panel 3:Action Jackson rises from his kneeling position and walks with heavy measured steps toward the eastern chamber wall, black smoke trailing from his jaw, shadows writhing across his bones. He stops exactly at the wall, facing it, motionless. The silver restraints at his wrists remain visible.

Panel 4:Inside Action Jackson's rib cage — an extreme close-up looking through the gaps between ribs. The living black shadow fills the interior of the chest cavity. But in the very center, nestled between two ribs, a small symbol has formed: a black geometric mark, like a closed eye with a jagged border, glowing the faintest dark violet from within. It is new. It was not there before.

Narrator:Something forms inside him. Unasked. Uninstructed.

Panel 5:Dark Lois stands apart from the others, watching Action Jackson at the eastern wall. Her eyes are fixed on his rib cage. Her expression is still and watchful. She has seen something. Her hands are folded in front of her, perfectly still.

PAGE 10

Panel 1:Dark Dodie stands at the center of the ritual circle. The bone-handled staff is raised horizontally in both hands. Dark Dodie drives the staff's tip into the floor at the circle's edge — a precise, deliberate strike. Where the staff touches the stone, a crack of black light runs outward along the floor and the air above it tears open: a vertical gateway, four feet wide and eight feet tall, its edges ragged and dripping with black shadow. Inside the gateway, a clear image is visible.

Panel 2:Close-up on the gateway's interior surface. Through the vertical tear in the air, the nave of the Church of Saint Vesper is visible: stone pews in rows, stained-glass windows dark, the vaulted ceiling above. Beyond the church's tall windows, storm-dark New York is visible — low black clouds, rain-slicked streets, the distant glow of city lights under heavy weather.

Narrator:The Church of Saint Vesper. Above. Beyond.

Panel 3:Dark Lucy closes her tome and tucks it under one arm. She faces Action Jackson, who stands at the eastern wall, and points one long finger toward the open shadow gateway. Her narrow spectacles catch the gateway's dark light. Her posture is commanding and absolute.

Dark Lucy: Cross. Spread the resurrection curse. New York belongs to The Ebon Panopticon.

Panel 4:Action Jackson turns from the eastern wall. He faces the open gateway. His violet eye sockets blaze. Cursed black smoke pours from his jaw and drifts toward the gateway opening. He takes one massive step forward, his shadow-wrapped bones filling the frame as he moves toward the vertical tear in the air. The Church of Saint Vesper is visible through the gateway behind him.

PAGE 11

Panel 1:Dark Lois stands rigid at her position beside the ritual circle. Her head snaps backward, long white hair fanning out. Her eyes roll fully white and her arms jerk outward horizontally, the silver-eyed veil trembling. The violet floor glyphs pulse bright beneath her feet.

Panel 2:Vision panel rendered in sickly yellow-white tones: Action Jackson's towering skeleton stands inside the Church of Saint Vesper nave, his violet eye sockets blazing. He has turned away from the church doors and faces back toward three small black-robed figures — Dark Lucy, Dark Lois, and Dark Dodie — who are retreating between stone pews. His shadow-wrapped arm is raised and sweeping downward toward them.

Panel 3:Dark Lois snaps upright, eyes returning to normal. She faces Dark Dodie across the ritual circle, one arm extended and pointing directly at him. Her expression is stricken and urgent. Dark Dodie stands with the bone-handled staff planted, expression unmoved.

Dark Lois: He turns on us. Inside the church. I saw it. The binding will not hold past the gateway.

Panel 4:Dark Dodie raises the bone-handled staff and drives its tip hard into the stone floor at the edge of the ritual circle. A crack of black light runs outward from the impact point. The silver restraints around Action Jackson's wrists and collar flare brighter, violet light blazing along each band. Action Jackson stands motionless at the gateway, his back to the scholars, shadows writhing.

Dark Dodie: The chains hold. Your visions are incomplete. Cross.

Panel 5:Dark Lois watches the scene, arms lowered, hands folded in front of her. Her expression is closed and certain. She does not argue further. Her silver-eyed veil hangs perfectly still. The vision's warning sits behind her composed face.

PAGE 12

Panel 1:Action Jackson stands at the open shadow gateway, one massive bone foot lifted, pausing mid-step. The black-violet thread tied to his spine by Dark Lucy is taut and visible, running back toward the ritual circle. Then his right arm jerks outward to the side. The silver restraint around his right wrist strains — the engraved metal bending, tiny fractures appearing across its surface.

Panel 2:Extreme close-up on the silver restraint around Action Jackson's right wrist. The engraved metal splits apart with a sharp crack — two pieces flying in opposite directions. Black shadow-smoke erupts from the break point. Living shadow tendrils whip outward from the freed wrist.

Panel 3:Action Jackson pivots on his massive bone feet, turning away from the shadow gateway to face the three scholars. His freed right arm hangs at his side, black shadow-tendrils coiling. His violet eye sockets blaze at full intensity, aimed directly at Dark Lucy, Dark Lois, and Dark Dodie. Cursed black smoke pours from his open jaw and spreads across the chamber floor toward them.

Panel 4:Dark Lucy, Dark Lois, and Dark Dodie stand in a tight cluster near the ritual circle. Dark Lucy's open tome drops slightly in her hands — the first crack in her composure. Dark Lois takes a single step backward. Dark Dodie raises the bone-handled staff in both hands, pointing it at Action Jackson.

Dark Lucy: The resurrection gave him will. Dark Dodie: It does not matter. We command him.

Panel 5:Wide shot of the full chamber. Action Jackson's seven-foot bone-and-shadow form stands opposite the three black-robed scholars. The shadow gateway behind him is still open, the Church of Saint Vesper's nave visible through it. The ritual circle's glyphs blaze at maximum intensity. The chamber feels suddenly too small.

PAGE 13

Panel 1:Dark Dodie charges forward, the bone-handled staff swung low and horizontal, aimed at Action Jackson's knee joints. The high collar of Dark Dodie's robe is rigid as Dark Dodie drives forward with full body weight, feet planted hard on the stone floor.

Panel 2:Dark Lois stands with both arms extended outward at shoulder height, palms facing forward. From her palms, overlapping rings of silver-white light spread outward — flat circular sigils, stacked and spinning, forming a protective barrier between Action Jackson and Dark Lucy's position at the iron shelves.

Dark Lois: Sigils up. Keep him from the records.

Panel 3:Dark Lucy stands at the iron shelves, her back to the wall, the open leather tome pressed flat against her chest. Her narrow spectacles are level. Her free hand traces a line of text on the open page, her finger moving quickly even as the chamber shakes around her. Her expression is locked in cold concentration.

Dark Lucy: The record says he cannot override a direct command. I am reading. Keep him contained.

Panel 4:Action Jackson catches Dark Dodie's staff strike on his forearm — the bone-handled staff cracks hard against aged bone. Action Jackson's arm does not move. He looks down at Dark Dodie with blazing violet eye sockets. Dark Dodie holds the staff two-handed, braced, straining against the immovable resistance.

PAGE 14

Panel 1:Action Jackson swings his freed right arm in a wide arc. Black shadow-tendrils lash outward from the motion, striking the chamber walls. Where the shadows hit the stone, they spread across the surface like spilled ink, climbing toward the ceiling in irregular branching shapes.

Panel 2:The ritual circle's stone floor cracks under Action Jackson's feet as he steps forward and tears through the silver glyph line. The inlaid silver voodoo symbols crack apart, their violet light sputtering and going dark in sections. Chunks of carved stone flip upward and clatter against the chamber floor.

Panel 3:The blank sealed detective file on the iron shelf trembles and falls open on its own, landing flat on the shelf surface. Its pages are entirely white — no text, no marks, no images. A black shadow-tendril from Action Jackson's attack reaches the shelf and touches the open blank page. The shadow is absorbed instantly into the white page, vanishing without a trace. The page remains blank and white.

Panel 4:Dark Lois stares at the open blank file on the shelf. Her silver-eyed veil frames her wide, alert eyes. Her protective sigils still spin in the air beside her, but her attention has snapped entirely to the file. One hand points toward it, arm fully extended.

Dark Lois: The blank page. It consumed the shadow. She is still in this room. Somehow.

Panel 5:Dark Lucy looks up sharply from her tome toward the open blank file. Her narrow spectacles catch the light. Her jaw tightens — a visible clench. For the first time her expression cracks from cold authority into something harder and less certain.

Dark Lucy: Impossible. The erasure was total.

PAGE 15

Panel 1:Dark Dodie plants the bone-handled staff in the floor between Action Jackson's feet and drives a concentrated ring of silver light outward from the staff's base. The silver light forms a tight cylinder around Action Jackson's legs and lower torso, pinning his movement. Action Jackson strains against it, black shadow-tendrils pressing at the silver boundary.

Dark Dodie: Hold still. I have him.

Panel 2:Dark Lois moves quickly along the edge of the chamber, keeping clear of Action Jackson's reach. She circles around to a position where she has a direct line of sight through the gaps in his rib cage. She leans forward, her eyes going wide. She can see something inside the rib cage clearly now.

Panel 3:Dark Lois's point of view: looking through the gaps between Action Jackson's ribs. In the interior of the chest cavity, the small black symbol from before has grown. It is now a distinct object — a black-violet heart shape, pulsing with slow dark light, nestled between two central ribs. It beats visibly, sending out faint violet ripples with each pulse.

Panel 4:Dark Lois spins toward Dark Lucy and Dark Dodie. Both arms are raised, one pointing directly at Action Jackson's rib cage, one pointing at Dark Lucy. Her expression is absolute and urgent, silver-eyed veil swinging with the motion.

Dark Lois: The anchor. It is inside him — a black-violet heart. That is what is driving his will. Destroy it.

PAGE 16

Panel 1:Dark Lucy stands with the open tome in one hand. She looks at Action Jackson's rib cage for a long moment, her narrow spectacles reflecting the black-violet pulse from the anchor inside. Then she closes the tome with a sharp snap, tucking it under her arm. Her expression is cold and resolved.

Dark Lucy: We do not destroy it. It is the source of his power. He goes through the gateway. As commanded.

Panel 2:Dark Lucy raises one long finger and points it directly at the open shadow gateway behind Action Jackson. The gateway still shows the Church of Saint Vesper's nave — dark pews, high vaulted ceiling, storm-dark windows. Her posture is commanding, chin raised.

Dark Lucy: Kill our enemies beyond the gateway. Go.

Panel 3:Action Jackson's head turns — not toward the gateway. His violet eye sockets pivot to face Dark Lucy directly. He takes one slow, deliberate step toward her, away from the gateway. His freed right arm rises. The black-violet thread tied to his spine by Dark Lucy runs taut between his vertebrae and her position. He reaches toward the thread.

Panel 4:Dark Lucy takes one step backward, her back pressing against the iron shelf. The sealed files rattle on their brackets above her. Her narrow spectacles are level but her free hand presses flat against the shelf behind her. Action Jackson's massive shadow-wrapped hand reaches toward the black-violet thread at his spine, fingers closing around it.

Dark Lois: Lucy. Move.

PAGE 17

Panel 1:Action Jackson grips the black-violet control thread at his spine with both hands and tears it free in one violent pull. The thread snaps and unravels — its violet glow sputtering and dying as the two ends fall away from his vertebrae. A shockwave of dark energy radiates outward from his spine in a visible ring.

Panel 2:The chamber shakes. The iron shelves lining the walls shudder and tilt. Sealed leather records burst from their brackets and cascade to the floor, their covers flying open, pages scattering across the stone. The black candles around the broken ritual circle topple, their violet flames guttering. Dust falls from the vaulted ceiling in sheets.

Panel 3:The shadow gateway behind Action Jackson widens. Its ragged black edges tear further apart, the vertical opening expanding outward — now six feet wide, ten feet tall. Through the enlarged gateway, the Church of Saint Vesper's nave is fully visible: stone pews, the dark vaulted ceiling, rain-lashed stained-glass windows. The nave looks enormous through the widened tear.

Panel 4:Dark Dodie plants both feet and swings the bone-handled staff in a long overhead arc toward Action Jackson's collar restraint — the one remaining silver band. Dark Lois throws her arms wide, casting another sigil ring. Dark Lucy runs along the wall away from the iron shelves, tome clutched to her chest, her black robe streaming behind her.

Dark Dodie: We pursue. We finish this in the church.

PAGE 18

Panel 1:Action Jackson steps through the widened shadow gateway. His full seven-foot bone-and-shadow form fills the gateway opening — aged bone, living black shadows writhing across every surface, violet eye sockets blazing, cursed black smoke pouring from his open jaw. The church nave opens up behind him as he crosses through, the collar restraint still clamped but the wrist restraints gone.

Panel 2:Wide shot of the Church of Saint Vesper nave. Action Jackson stands in the center aisle between two rows of stone pews, his head nearly reaching the vaulted ceiling ribs above. Black smoke rolls outward from him across the stone floor in all directions. The stained-glass windows show the storm-dark New York sky beyond — low black clouds, rain on the glass. The church is empty of civilians. The ruined bell tower is partially visible through a gap in the upper structure.

Panel 3:Behind Action Jackson, the shadow gateway tears fully open in the church floor near the altar end of the nave. Dark Lucy steps through first, her black robe pressed flat by the gateway's cold wind, tome gripped in both hands. Dark Lois follows immediately, silver-eyed veil streaming. Dark Dodie comes last, bone-handled staff extended forward, ash-gray face set hard.

Panel 4:Dark Lucy, Dark Lois, and Dark Dodie stand in a line across the nave aisle, facing Action Jackson's massive back. He stands between them and the ruined bell tower end of the church. Black smoke fills the air between them at knee height. The three scholars are small against the church's vaulted scale and against his seven-foot frame.

Dark Lucy: We end this here. On our terms.

PAGE 19

Panel 1:Dark Dodie strides forward along the nave aisle, past the rows of stone pews, moving toward the center of the church floor. The bone-handled staff is raised vertically in both hands. Dark Dodie's face is locked in absolute concentration, ash-gray skin pale under the storm-gray church light.

Dark Dodie: The Nightmare Portal. Now. Before he moves.

Panel 2:Dark Dodie slams the bone-handled staff into the center of the church floor with both hands. The impact cracks the stone. A circle of black light expands outward from the strike point, running along the mortar lines between the floor stones. The black circle grows rapidly — eight feet across, ten feet, wider — its edge burning with a cold violet-black flame.

Panel 3:The Nightmare Portal opens fully. A vast black void fills the center of the church floor — a circular opening thirty feet across, its depth impossible to gauge. Inside the black opening, distant eyes are visible: dozens of pale violet-white points of light at various depths, unblinking, staring upward. A violent storm light — deep violet and electric — flickers from within the portal's depths, casting shifting shadows upward across the church ceiling.

Panel 4:Action Jackson stands at the near edge of the Nightmare Portal, his back to it. The vast black void with its distant eyes and violet storm-light is directly behind him. He faces the three scholars across the nave. His violet eye sockets blaze at full intensity. Cursed black smoke pours from his jaw and falls downward into the portal behind him. He raises both arms outward.

Panel 5:Close-up on the Nightmare Portal's interior — looking straight down into the void. The distant eyes stare upward in clusters, pale violet-white, unblinking. Violet lightning flickers deep inside. The scale is vast and unlit.

Narrator:The Nightmare Portal. Open. Waiting.

PAGE 20

Panel 1:Action Jackson surges forward along the nave, both arms sweeping outward. One massive shadow-wrapped arm crashes into a row of stone pews, splintering them — heavy stone fragments fly outward and chunks of carved wood explode from the impact. Dust cascades from the vaulted ceiling above. Black shadow-tendrils lash the walls, tearing grooves in the stone.

Panel 2:Dark Dodie meets the attack head-on, driving the bone-handled staff upward into Action Jackson's sternum. The impact lands with a visible crack of silver light at the contact point. Action Jackson's forward momentum slows but does not stop — his shadow-tendrils wrap around the staff's shaft and press back against Dark Dodie's grip.

Dark Dodie: Hold your ground!

Panel 3:Dark Lois stands between two broken pews, both hands raised and open, eyes going white as she enters a rapid trance. Her silver-eyed veil is still. Her lips move. She turns her head slightly left — toward Dark Dodie's position — and one hand swings to point directly at Action Jackson's left knee joint.

Dark Lois: His left joint — strike low. I see the gap.

Panel 4:Dark Lucy stands pressed against the far nave wall, the open tome held flat in front of her. Her narrow spectacles are aimed at Action Jackson's rib cage. Her free hand moves over the open page, tracing a complex glyph pattern in the air above the text — her fingers leave faint silver-violet traces as they move, sketching the outline of a severing ritual in the air in front of her.

Dark Lucy: The anchor is the target. I am preparing the severing. Buy me time.

PAGE 21

Panel 1:Wide shot of the Church of Saint Vesper nave. Dark Dodie drives the bone-handled staff upward into Action Jackson's sternum with both hands, planting both feet hard on the stone floor. Silver light erupts from the staff's tip and spreads across Action Jackson's rib cage in branching lines. Dark Lois stands to Action Jackson's left, both arms extended, streams of black script — dense columns of cursed glyphs — flowing from her fingertips and wrapping around Action Jackson's arms like chains. Action Jackson's violet eye sockets blaze at full intensity, his shadow-wrapped arms straining outward against the binding.

Dark Dodie: Silver and script — together. Do not let him breathe.

Panel 2:Medium shot on Dark Lucy moving low and fast along the outer edge of a broken pew row, her black robe pressed against the stone, the open leather tome in one hand. Her narrow spectacles are fixed on Action Jackson's rib cage. Her free hand is raised, fingers splayed, trailing faint silver-violet light as she approaches his side. The Nightmare Portal's black void and distant pale eyes glow behind Action Jackson's legs.

Dark Lucy: Hold him. I am almost inside the binding.

Panel 3:Close-up on Action Jackson's rib cage from Dark Lucy's approach angle. The gaps between his aged stained ribs are visible. Inside the chest cavity, the black-violet heart pulses with slow dark light — a distinct fist-sized shape beating steadily between two central ribs, sending out faint violet ripples with each pulse. Dark Lucy's long pale fingers enter the frame from the lower edge, reaching between two ribs toward the anchor.

Panel 4:Action Jackson's skull snaps downward to look at Dark Lucy beside him. His violet eye sockets blaze at full intensity. His shadow-wrapped left arm tears partially free of the black script binding — the glyph chains stretching and cracking — and swings down toward Dark Lucy's position. Dark Lois throws her full weight into the script binding, planting her feet, both arms wrenched back as the chains strain.

Dark Lois: He is breaking the script. Lucy — now!

Panel 5:Dark Lucy's hand closes around the black-violet heart inside Action Jackson's rib cage. Her pale fingers wrap fully around the pulsing anchor. Violet-black light bleeds between her fingers and runs up her wrist. Her narrow spectacles catch the glow. Her jaw is set, teeth clenched, expression rigid with effort. Action Jackson's entire skeleton shudders — visible vibration lines running up every bone from his feet to his skull.

Dark Lucy: I have it.

PAGE 22

Panel 1:Wide shot of the full Church of Saint Vesper nave. Dark Dodie still drives the bone-handled staff into Action Jackson's sternum with both hands. Dark Lois has both arms wrenched back, black script chains straining around Action Jackson's arms. Dark Lucy stands at his side with both hands now plunging into his rib cage, gripping the anchor. All three scholars are braced and straining. The Nightmare Portal's vast black void churns directly behind Action Jackson's feet, the distant pale eyes staring upward from its depths. Action Jackson's skull is thrown back, jaw wide open, a column of cursed black smoke pouring upward from it.

Dark Dodie: Sever it. All three — together. Dark Lois: On your word, Lucy.

Panel 2:Extreme close-up on Dark Lucy's hands inside the rib cage. Both hands grip the black-violet heart. Her fingers press inward from opposite sides. A thin line of white-silver light appears between her palms and the heart's surface — the severing ritual activating. The heart's violet pulse stutters — its rhythm breaking, the ripples becoming irregular, the dark light flickering.

Dark Lucy: Now.

Panel 3:Full-page-width horizontal panel. A violent crack of white-silver light explodes outward from Action Jackson's rib cage — a circular shockwave. Dark Lucy is thrown backward off her feet, landing hard against a stone pew. Dark Dodie staggers back two steps, the bone-handled staff still in both hands, silver light flaring at its tip. Dark Lois is driven backward, the black script chains snapping apart into dissolving glyph fragments. Action Jackson's skeleton shudders violently — his rib cage splits apart down the center, the two halves cracking open. The black-violet heart inside is visible for one instant — then it goes dark, its light extinguished completely. Action Jackson's violet eye sockets flicker. Once. Twice.

Panel 4:Action Jackson's skeleton begins to come apart from the inside outward. His rib cage splinters — individual ribs cracking free and dropping. His spine separates at two vertebrae. Living black shadows peel away from his bone surfaces in ribbons, dissolving into smoke before they reach the floor. The Nightmare Portal directly beneath him pulls the smoke and shadow downward — a visible current of dark energy flowing from his dissolving form into the void. His violet eye sockets dim from blazing violet to a dull ember glow.

PAGE 23

Panel 1:SPLASH PAGE. Action Jackson is pulled downward into the Nightmare Portal. His disintegrating skeleton is mid-fall — arms flung wide, spine separating into individual vertebrae, rib cage split open and trailing shadow-ribbons, skull tilted back with jaw open and a final thin column of cursed black smoke rising from it. The black-violet heart inside the open rib cage is dark and cracked, a split stone rather than a beating organ. The Nightmare Portal's vast circular void swallows him — its distant pale eyes staring upward from every depth around his falling form, violet storm-light flickering in the abyss below him. The three scholars stand at the portal's edge above: Dark Dodie with the bone-handled staff lowered, Dark Lois with arms at her sides and silver-eyed veil hanging still, Dark Lucy with the closed tome pressed to her chest and narrow spectacles reflecting the portal's violet light. All three watch him fall. The church nave rises above them — broken pews, dust falling from the vaulted ceiling, rain on the stained-glass windows.

Narrator:Into the Nightmare Portal. Into the dark beyond the dark. Gone from Earth.

PAGE 24

Panel 1:Wide establishing shot of the exterior of the Church of Saint Vesper at sunrise. The storm has broken. A pale orange-pink sky spreads above the church's stone facade and damaged bell tower. The church is silent — no movement, no light in the windows. The street around it is empty and still. Dust and stone debris are scattered across the front steps.

Narrator:Sunrise. New York breathes again.

Panel 2:Inside the Church of Saint Vesper nave. Dark Lucy, Dark Lois, and Dark Dodie stand amid the aftermath — broken stone pews, dust drifting in the pale morning light coming through the stained-glass windows, extinguished candle stubs on the floor. The Nightmare Portal is gone: only a scorched circular mark remains on the stone floor where it opened. The shadow gateway has closed. The nave is silent and empty. All three scholars are still, their black robes dusty and disheveled. Dark Lucy holds the closed tome at her side. Dark Dodie's bone-handled staff rests on the floor beside Dark Dodie's feet. Dark Lois's silver-eyed veil hangs straight and unmoving.

Dark Lucy: It is done. Dark Lois: The record is closed.

Panel 3:Close-up on the scorched circle on the church floor where the Nightmare Portal opened. At the center of the circle, a single black bone fragment — a small curved shard — rests on the stone. As the pale morning light falls across it, the fragment begins to crack. Hairline fractures spread across its surface. The shard crumbles inward, collapsing into a small pile of gray ash.

Panel 4:Extreme close-up on a crack in the church floor just beyond the scorched circle. The crack is dark and deep. Inside it, barely visible in the shadow — a single point of faint violet light flickers once, a brief cold pulse. Then it is gone. The crack is dark. The stone is still.

Narrator:Contained. For now.
