Panel 1:A wide shot of a camel caravan traversing a sandy desert. The sun beats down. The lead camel is laden with goods. We see Omar, a middle-aged merchant with a weathered face, leading the camel. Others follow behind. The style is watercolor, giving a sense of heat haze.
“Omar: (Wiping sweat) Another league today... may the oasis be plentiful.”
Panel 2:Close up on Omar's face. He squints, looking into the distance. Worry lines are etched around his eyes.
“Omar: Something doesn't feel right...”
Panel 3:A long shot showing bandits on horseback cresting a sand dune. They are heavily armed with swords and bows.
Panel 4:Omar looks back, his eyes wide with terror. He drops the camel's reins.
“Omar: Bandits! We're under attack!”
Panel 5:A bandit on horseback swings a sword down towards Omar. The camel rears up in fear.
“Bandit: Your goods, or your life!”

Panel 1:Close-up of Omar cowering on the ground, shielding his face.
“Omar: No! Please!”
Panel 2:A figure leaps into the panel between the bandit and Omar. It's Jian, a young scholar with a kind face and spectacles. He wears simple travelling clothes but moves with surprising agility.
“Jian: I think not!”
Panel 3:Jian executes a spinning kick, knocking the bandit off his horse. The bandit's sword flies through the air.
Panel 4:Wide shot of the other bandits reacting in surprise to Jian's unexpected fighting skills. Some are pulling back on their horses.
“Bandit 2: What?!”
Panel 5:Jian lands gracefully on his feet, adjusts his spectacles, and smiles sheepishly at Omar.
“Jian: Apologies for the interruption. I find exercise helps clear the mind.”

Panel 1:Omar stares at Jian in disbelief, his mouth agape. The fallen bandit lies groaning on the ground in the background.
“Omar: But... you're a scholar! I saw you reading scrolls just this morning!”
Panel 2:Jian shrugs, picking up a dropped scroll case. He has a small satchel slung over his shoulder.
“Jian: A scholar, yes. But also... a practitioner of the ancient art of *Wushu*. One must find ways to defend oneself on the Silk Road.”
Panel 3:The remaining bandits, seeing their comrade defeated and intimidated by Jian's skills, turn their horses around and flee back over the dune.
“Bandit Leader: Retreat!”
Panel 4:Omar rushes to Jian, bowing deeply.
“Omar: You saved my life! I am eternally in your debt!”
Panel 5:Jian smiles warmly, helping Omar to his feet.
“Jian: Think nothing of it. Perhaps we can travel together for a while? Safety in numbers, you know.”

Panel 1:Omar and Jian walk alongside the camel caravan. Omar gestures expansively.
“Omar: I am Omar, a humble merchant. I travel to Samarkand with spices and silks.”
Panel 2:Jian smiles. He carries a rolled-up scroll tied with string.
“Jian: A pleasure, Omar. I am Jian. I seek ancient texts and knowledge in the western lands.”
Panel 3:Close-up on Omar's face. He's smiling genuinely.
“Omar: Perhaps a scholar's wisdom and a merchant's cunning will make for a formidable partnership.”
Panel 4:Wide shot of the caravan continuing its journey across the desert. Omar and Jian walk side-by-side, deep in conversation. The setting sun casts long shadows.
“Jian: Indeed, Omar. Indeed. Perhaps over dinner tonight I can tell you about the legend of the Lost Library of Alexandria...”
Panel 5:A close up on the rolled scroll in Jian's hand. The title written on it reads 'The Art of Wushu'
