Eleanor Ainsworth is a young, studious librarian working late at the City Library. She is the first to encounter the strange magical occurrences. Visually, she has long, dark brown hair usually tied back in a practical ponytail, framing a round face with large, expressive brown eyes behind rectangular-framed glasses. Her skin tone is fair. She wears a slightly oversized, comfortable cable-knit sweater in a muted green color over a simple white blouse, paired with dark wash jeans. She has a practical wristwatch on her left wrist. She carries a pen and a notepad for inventory.
