Panel 1: A cozy living room. MR. HENDERSON, a kind-faced man in his 40s, is putting on his coat by the front door. PIP, a small, scruffy terrier mix, sits sadly by the window, looking out with big, round eyes.

MR. HENDERSON: Be a good boy, Pip! I'll be back before you know it!

Panel 2: Mr. Henderson's car drives away, visible through the window. Pip watches it go, his sad expression slowly morphing into a sly, mischievous grin. A thought bubble above his head shows a cartoon lightbulb appearing.

Panel 3: Pip is at the back door, nudging the doggy door flap with his nose. His tail wags a little, excitedly.

Panel 4: Pip bursts out of the doggy door into a sunny backyard. His eyes are wide with excitement, and his tongue lolls out. The world feels vibrant and full of possibility.

Panel 5: Pip sniffs a colorful flower in the garden, then kicks up some dirt with his hind leg, looking around with boundless energy. His tail is wagging furiously.

Panel 1: Pip is trotting confidently down a quiet suburban sidewalk, sniffing every interesting smell. A small bird watches him from a picket fence.

Panel 2: Pip stops dead, ears perked. He's spotted SQUIGGLES, a lively squirrel, perched on a tree branch above him, chattering playfully.

Panel 3: Pip barks once, a friendly 'woof!' Squiggles chatters back, tilting his head. A playful connection is made.

PIP: Woof!

Panel 4: Pip and Squiggles are 'chasing' each other playfully around the base of the tree. Pip is barking happily, and Squiggles is darting up and down the trunk, occasionally teasing Pip from a low branch.

SQUIGGLES: Chitter-chatter!

Panel 5: Pip and Squiggles have stumbled upon an overturned green trash can at the curb, spilling a comical array of discarded food items and wrappers. A cloud of flies hovers above it, and a rotten banana peel dangles precariously.

Panel 1: Pip and Squiggles are gleefully investigating the contents of the trash can. Pip has his nose deep in a crumpled paper bag, while Squiggles is nibbling on a discarded pizza crust.

PIP: Sniff sniff! Mmm!

Panel 2: Pip emerges triumphantly from the trash can, holding a slightly dirty but intact tennis ball in his mouth. Squiggles has found a whole stale baguette and is trying to carry it.

PIP: Got it!

Panel 3: Pip drops the tennis ball and nudges it with his nose, chasing it playfully. The ball rolls directly into a large, thorny rose bush, becoming entangled among the sharp thorns.

Panel 4: Pip attempts to retrieve the ball, poking his nose into the thorny bush. He yelps in surprise as a thorn pricks his ear. Squiggles looks down from a nearby fence post, wide-eyed with concern.

PIP: Yip! Ow!

Panel 5: A cartoon sound effect of a distant CAR HORN is heard. Pip's ears perk up instantly, his eyes widening in sudden panic. He looks towards the direction of the sound, a horrified expression on his face.

Page 4

Panel 1: Pip, with a small, comical bandage (or just a cartoon tear) on his ear, is looking frantic. Squiggles, still on the fence, points a tiny paw towards Pip's house in the distance, urging him to go.

SQUIGGLES: Chitter! Chitter!

Panel 2: Pip is a blur of motion, racing across several backyards, leaping over fences and dodging garden gnomes. Speed lines emphasize his frantic rush.

Panel 3: Pip bursts through his own doggy door, panting heavily, his eyes wide and slightly wild. He lands in a heap on the kitchen floor.

PIP: Huff... puff...

Panel 4: Pip is now curled up innocently on his dog bed, feigning sleep. One eye is slightly open, nervously peeking towards the front door. He's covered in a few leaves and a tiny smudge of dirt.

Panel 5: The front door opens. Mr. Henderson steps inside, coat off, keys in hand. He looks around casually.

MR. HENDERSON: Pip? I'm home, buddy!

Panel 6: Mr. Henderson is petting Pip, who is still on his bed, looking utterly exhausted but with a tiny, satisfied, mischievous smirk playing on his lips. Mr. Henderson smiles fondly.

MR. HENDERSON: You must have had a tough day napping, huh, boy?
