Starverse: The Lost Lands

Panel 1: EXT. PLANET SURFACE - DAY. The Duex, a sleek spaceship, rests on a cracked, barren plain. In the distance, crumbling skyscrapers pierce a dust-filled sky. Stark and Ewon stand near the ramp, surveying the desolate landscape. Stark wears a practical, utilitarian jumpsuit. Ewon, slightly behind, holds a scanner.

“EWON: Readings confirm a significant energy signature… but no life signs on the surface.”

Panel 2: CLOSE UP on Stark's face. Her expression is a mixture of curiosity and concern. The dust swirls around her.

“STARK: A ghost town… or something worse.”

Panel 3: WIDE SHOT. A massive, partially collapsed building dominates the background. The architecture is alien, yet familiar – hinting at a lost grandeur.

Panel 4: EWON adjusts his scanner. The screen displays fluctuating readings.

“EWON: Wait… energy readings are spiking. Underground. Deep underground.”

Panel 1: EXT. RUINS - DAY. Stark and Ewon walk through the ruins, their footsteps echoing in the silence. Debris litters the ground.

“STARK: Let's find an entrance. Something that leads down.”

Panel 2: CLOSE UP on a partially buried metallic hatch. It's circular and intricately designed.

Panel 3: EWON struggles to open the hatch. He uses a small tool from his belt.

“EWON: It's sealed tight. Some kind of electromagnetic lock.”

Panel 4: STARK steps forward, placing her hand on the hatch. Her expression is determined.

“STARK: Stand back.”

Panel 1: SOUND EFFECT: *CLICK*. The hatch hisses open, revealing a dark, narrow staircase leading down.

Panel 2: STARK shines a light down the staircase. The steps are worn and uneven.

“STARK: Let's go. But be ready for anything.”

Panel 3: EWON follows Stark, his scanner held high.

“EWON: Agreed. My readings are going off the charts down there.”

Panel 4: ANGLE: Looking down the staircase as Stark and Ewon descend into darkness.

Panel 1: INT. UNDERGROUND TUNNEL - NIGHT. Stark and Ewon emerge into a long, dimly lit tunnel. The walls are made of smooth, polished stone.

“STARK: Impressive. They built this to last.”

Panel 2: EWON scans the tunnel with his device. The readings are erratic.

“EWON: There's some kind of interference down here. I'm getting multiple energy signatures… and… life signs. Many of them.”

Panel 3: CLOSE UP. A pair of glowing eyes peer out from the darkness ahead.

Panel 4: STARK raises her weapon, pointing it towards the darkness.

“STARK: We're not alone.”

Panel 1: SEVERAL figures emerge from the shadows. They are humanoid, but their skin is pale and their eyes glow with an unnatural light. They wear primitive clothing made of woven fibers and bone.

Panel 2: CLOSE UP on one of the Underground Dwellers. Their face is gaunt and their expression is hostile. They carry crude weapons.

Panel 3: EWON raises his hands in a gesture of peace.

“EWON: We mean you no harm. We're explorers.”

Panel 4: The Underground Dwellers ignore Ewon's plea. They brandish their weapons.

“UNDERGROUND DWELLER: (Subtitled) Outsiders! You are not welcome here!”

Panel 1: STARK lowers her weapon slightly, but remains vigilant.

“STARK: We only want to talk. Tell us what happened here.”

Panel 2: The lead Underground Dweller steps forward, his eyes burning with anger.

“UNDERGROUND DWELLER: (Subtitled) You ask too many questions! You will leave, or you will die!”

Panel 3: ACTION. The Underground Dwellers attack. One lunges at Stark with a spear.

Panel 4: EWON fires a stun blast from his scanner, knocking one of the Dwellers back.

Panel 1: WIDE SHOT. A chaotic fight breaks out in the tunnel. Stark and Ewon are outnumbered but skilled.

Panel 2: STARK disarms one of the Dwellers with a swift move.

Panel 3: EWON uses his scanner to create a small force field, deflecting a thrown projectile.

Panel 4: CLOSE UP on Stark's face. She's focused and determined to end the fight quickly.

“STARK: Enough! We don't want to hurt you!”

Panel 1: The lead Underground Dweller hesitates, noticing Stark's genuine plea.

“UNDERGROUND DWELLER: (Subtitled) Why… why do you come here?”

Panel 2: STARK sheathes her weapon, signaling her peaceful intentions.

“STARK: We're explorers. We want to understand what happened to your civilization.”

Panel 3: EWON lowers his scanner, but remains cautious.

“EWON: We saw the ruins above. We want to help, if we can.”

Panel 4: The lead Underground Dweller exchanges glances with the others. They seem uncertain.

Panel 1: The lead Underground Dweller steps forward again, his expression softening slightly.

“UNDERGROUND DWELLER: (Subtitled) The Surface… is cursed. A great darkness came, and consumed everything. We were forced to hide.”

Panel 2: STARK listens intently, her expression sympathetic.

“STARK: What kind of darkness?”

Panel 3: The Underground Dweller shudders, his eyes filled with fear.

“UNDERGROUND DWELLER: (Subtitled) We do not speak its name. It still lurks above, waiting.”

Panel 4: EWON glances at his scanner, his expression concerned.

“EWON: My readings… there's a residual energy signature. Something… powerful. And malevolent.”

Panel 1: STARK looks thoughtfully at the Underground Dweller.

“STARK: Can you show us? Can you show us what you're hiding from?”

Panel 2: The Underground Dweller hesitates, then slowly reaches out and takes Stark's hand.

Panel 3: The other Underground Dwellers watch with a mixture of apprehension and hope.

“UNDERGROUND DWELLER: (Subtitled) Come. We will show you… but be warned. What you see… you cannot unsee.”

Panel 1: INT. UNDERGROUND CAVERN - NIGHT. Stark, Ewon, and the Underground Dwellers enter a vast cavern. In the center, a massive, pulsating crystal emits an eerie green glow.

Panel 2: CLOSE UP on the crystal. It's cracked and damaged, radiating a sickly energy.

Panel 3: EWON's scanner goes haywire, emitting a loud, piercing tone.

“EWON: I… I can't explain this! The energy readings are off the scale!”

Panel 4: STARK stares at the crystal, her expression a mixture of horror and fascination.

“STARK: This… this is what they're hiding from?”

Panel 1: The lead Underground Dweller stands beside Stark, his face etched with despair.

“UNDERGROUND DWELLER: (Subtitled) It came from the stars… a seed of darkness. It corrupted our world, our people. We tried to contain it… but we failed.”

Panel 3: EWON looks at Stark, his face filled with doubt.

“EWON: Stark, I don't know… this is beyond anything we've ever encountered.”

Panel 4: WIDE SHOT. Stark stands defiantly before the pulsating crystal, the Underground Dwellers huddled behind her. The fate of the planet hangs in the balance.

“STARK: Then we'll find a way. We have to.”
