The tiny detective and the Giantess Gardener
The microscopic detective trails the 100,000-foot barefoot Giantess Cleo from her apartment to her backyard garden, searching for his missing friend Pete. In the garden, the detective witnesses Cleo's enormous bare feet crushing ants without a second thought. He spots Pete alive and running in terror from Cleo's descending soles. The detective rushes toward Pete but both are caught beneath Cleo's dirty, soil-caked bare feet — she never even notices them, mistaking them for ants and grinding them into the garden earth.

PAGE 1
Panel 1:Wide establishing shot of Cleo's apartment exterior wall and sliding glass door leading to a backyard garden, viewed from ground level. The door gap is enormous — a cathedral arch from the detective's perspective. Sunlight blazes beyond it, illuminating a green garden world. The detective, a microscopic speck in a tiny trench coat, stands at the base of the door track, looking outward at the blinding garden light.
Narrator:“After the apartment. The trail leads outside.”
PAGE 2
Panel 1:Close-up on The detective's face — jaw set, eyes scanning the bright garden beyond the door gap. Dust motes float around him like boulders. His tiny coat collar is raised.
“The detective: Pete came this way. The tracks don't lie.”
Panel 2:Wide shot: The detective emerges from under the door track into the vast garden. Enormous grass blades tower above him like redwood trees. Flower stems are skyscrapers. The garden soil is a cracked, rocky landscape. Ant trails crisscross the ground — each ant the size of a bus relative to The detective.
Narrator:“Cleo's backyard garden — a wilderness of giants.”
Panel 3:Over-the-shoulder shot from behind The detective, looking out across the garden terrain. Far ahead, a colossal pale shape — the edge of Cleo's bare foot — is visible resting on the garden path, enormous toes curling slightly into the soil.
“The detective: She's here.”
PAGE 3
Panel 1:Extreme wide panel. Cleo stands barefoot in her garden, full figure visible from the knees down — impossibly tall, her legs vanishing into the upper sky. She holds a watering can. Her bare feet are planted in the garden soil, toes spread, soles dirty with earth. She is enormous beyond comprehension.
Narrator:“Giantess Cleo. Barefoot. Oblivious.”
Panel 2:Ground-level insert shot: Cleo's left bare foot lifts and slams down. A cluster of ants beneath it is obliterated — crushed flat into the soil under the dirty, broad sole. The impact sends a visible shockwave rippling through the dirt.
Panel 3:The detective watches from behind a pebble the size of a house, pressed flat against its surface. His eyes are wide — he is staring at the crushed ants and Cleo's foot lifting again, indifferent. His tiny fists are clenched at his sides.
“The detective: She doesn't even know.”
Panel 4:Close-up on Cleo's dirty bare sole mid-stride — the heel and arch visible, caked with dark garden soil, a smear of crushed ant visible on the ball of her foot. The texture of her sole fills the panel.
PAGE 4
Panel 1:Wide shot of the garden path from ground level. Cleo's bare feet dominate the frame left and right, stepping slowly. Between them, far in the background, a tiny speck is running — Pete, microscopic, sprinting in terror across the open soil.
Narrator:“And then — movement.”
Panel 2:The detective's face in extreme close-up — eyes suddenly locked on Pete in the distance, mouth open, one hand raised pointing.
“The detective: Pete! PETE!”
Panel 3:Ground-level shot: Pete sprints across cracked soil, arms pumping, looking back over his shoulder. Behind him, the enormous shadow of Cleo's right foot falls across the ground — her toes just entering the top of the frame, descending.
“Pete: It's right behind me!”
Panel 4:Wide panel: Cleo's right bare foot slams down — just missing Pete by a hair's width. The impact sends a plume of dirt and pebbles into the air. Pete is thrown off his feet by the shockwave, tumbling across the soil.
Panel 5:Cleo's face partially visible far above — she glances down at the ground with mild curiosity, watering can still in hand, noticing nothing significant. Her expression is bored, casual.
“Cleo: Just ants.”
PAGE 5
Panel 1:The detective sprints across open garden soil toward Pete's fallen position, coat flapping. Around him, ant trails diverge — he weaves between them. Cleo's feet are visible in the far background, enormous pillars of flesh moving slowly.
“The detective: Stay down, Pete! Don't move!”
Panel 2:Close-up: The detective reaches Pete, grabbing him by the arm and hauling him upright. Pete is dishevelled, covered in soil dust, eyes wild with fear. Both figures are microscopic against the vast garden ground.
“Pete: You came. You actually came.”
Panel 3:Wide shot looking up from ground level. Cleo's two bare feet stand on either side of The detective and Pete — the two micro-figures trapped between the colossal soles like insects between two walls. Cleo has not looked down. Her toes flex idly in the soil.
Narrator:“No way out. The feet are everywhere.”
Panel 4:Over-the-shoulder shot from The detective's perspective: ahead, a gap in the garden — a clear path between two flower stem bases. A possible escape route.
“The detective: There — run!”
PAGE 6
Panel 1:Wide action panel: The detective and Pete sprint side by side across the soil toward the flower stem gap. Behind them, Cleo's right foot lifts high — an enormous shadow darkens the ground they just crossed.
Panel 2:Insert close-up: Cleo's right foot sole — dirty, soil-caked, broad — descending fast, filling the panel. The texture of the dirty sole is detailed: soil pressed into the skin, grass stains, the curve of the arch.
Panel 3:Ground-level shot: Pete stumbles — his foot catches in a crack in the soil and he goes down hard, sprawling flat on the ground. The detective skids to a halt and turns back.
“Pete: I'm down — I can't—”
Panel 4:The detective throws himself back toward Pete, diving across the soil, reaching out one hand. His expression is fierce and desperate. Above them, Cleo's sole fills the sky — five dirty toes spread wide, the ball of the foot directly above them.
“The detective: PETE!”
Panel 5:Total darkness panel — pure black with a single line of narration at the bottom. Nothing visible. The impact has happened.
Narrator:“And then — nothing.”
Panel 6:Wide shot of Cleo's face from a mid-distance, seen from slightly below. She looks down at the ground beneath her foot with the faintest flicker of mild interest, then shrugs and resumes watering her plants. Her expression is entirely indifferent.
“Cleo: Ants.”
PAGE 7
Panel 1:Extreme close-up on the underside of Cleo's right foot sole as she lifts it slightly from the garden soil. The dirty sole — caked with soil, grass, crushed ant remains — is revealed. Pressed into the warm skin of the ball of her foot, barely visible, are two microscopic shapes side by side: The detective and Pete. Flat, motionless, stuck fast to her sole.
Narrator:“Two specks. Indistinguishable from the ants.”
Panel 2:Wide establishing shot of Cleo's full garden. She stands upright, watering can in hand, bare feet planted in the soil, completely relaxed. The garden is peaceful and green. Nothing indicates any catastrophe has occurred. She is enormous, serene, and utterly oblivious.
Narrator:“She never knew their names.”
Panel 3:Final panel — tight insert shot of Cleo's right foot sole pressed flat back down on the garden soil. The two microscopic shapes of The detective and Pete are visible as near-invisible impressions in the dirt where her foot rests. Around them, crushed ants form an identical pattern. They are indistinguishable from the rest.
Narrator:“She never knew they were there at all.”
PAGE 8
Panel 1:Wide shot of the full garden from a high angle — Cleo's figure visible from above, tiny within the frame of her own garden, barefoot, pottering between flower beds. The scale has flipped: now she is the small one against the vastness of the garden and sky above her. The sun is setting behind the trees.
Narrator:“The garden keeps no record of the small.”
Panel 2:Ground-level close-up of the patch of garden soil where Cleo last stepped. No trace of The detective or Pete remains visible — just compressed dirt, a few crushed ants, and the shallow imprint of a bare foot sole fading in the earth.
Narrator:“The case is closed.”
Panel 3:Final wide panel. Cleo's bare feet pad across her garden patio stones, moving away from camera, her back to us. The garden stretches out around her — green, peaceful, enormous. Her dirty bare soles flash with each step. The garden is serene. Nothing remains.
Narrator:“She walked away. Barefoot. Unhurried. Unaware.”
Panel 4:A final black panel — completely dark, no figures, no setting. Silence. A single small caption in the centre.
Narrator:“End of Issue 2.”
PAGE 9
Panel 1:Flashback-style panel with a slightly faded colour palette. Ground level, inside Cleo's apartment. The detective stands at the base of the sliding glass door, looking out at the garden. This is the moment just before Issue 2 began — a quiet echo. His tiny silhouette against the blazing garden light.
Narrator:“He had a name. He had a case.”
Panel 2:Flashback panel — ground level in the garden. Pete running, looking back over his shoulder, face wide with fear. Bright sun. Open soil. A desperate figure in full flight.
Narrator:“Pete ran. He always ran.”
Panel 3:Flashback panel — The detective diving toward Pete, hand outstretched, expression fierce. The two micro-figures reaching for each other across the vast garden soil, Cleo's shadow falling over them.
Narrator:“He found him. In the end.”
Panel 4:A single final image: the underside of Cleo's dirty right foot sole, lifted just slightly from the ground, the two microscopic shapes of The detective and Pete visible as tiny pressed impressions in the warm, soil-caked skin. Side by side. Still. Permanent.
Narrator:“Together. Beneath her. Forever.”
Panel 5:Cleo's face in close-up — she is looking up at the sky, completely relaxed, a small smile on her lips as the last of the afternoon sun catches her face. She is thinking about nothing. She is perfectly content.
“Cleo: Beautiful day.”
PAGE 10
Panel 1:Very wide aerial shot of the entire garden block — Cleo's backyard garden visible as a small green rectangle in a grid of identical suburban backyards. Cleo herself is a tiny figure moving inside it. The world is enormous and indifferent. The scale of everything dwarfs even the giantess.
Narrator:“In a world of giants, even giants are small.”
Panel 2:Ground level — the garden soil close-up. Empty. Still. A single ant walks across the frame, undisturbed. No trace of anyone. The world carries on.
Narrator:“Somewhere, something smaller is always watching.”
Panel 3:Final page, final panel — a pure black rectangle. No image. No figures. Just darkness and a small caption in white text, centred. The end.
Narrator:“The End.”
