PAGE 2

Panel 1:Inside the Incredibots workshop, a large industrial space with tool racks and workbenches. Ampere sits motionless on the center table, its aluminum chassis catching the overhead fluorescent light. A dark fluid pools beneath one of its wheels. Maya "Mo" Chen stands frozen in front of it, ponytail askew, wearing her event-pin-covered hoodie. Her hands are clenched at her sides. The rest of the team—Deshawn Carter, Priya Patel, Jake Bennett, and Trent Voss—stand behind her in a loose cluster, their expressions shifting from curiosity to concern.

Narrator:Three days until states. Everything changes in an instant.

Panel 2:Close-up on Maya "Mo" Chen's face. Her jaw is tight. Her eyes dart to the leaked fluid, then back to Ampere . Her lips are pressed into a thin line. The workshop background is blurred.

Narrator:Mo's worst nightmare: a robot in crisis, and no time to fix it.

Panel 3:Deshawn Carter drops to his knees beside Ampere , peering at the leak. His eyes go wide. He touches the fluid with one finger, then holds it up to the light, his expression shifting through shock to drama.

Deshawn Carter: This is bad. This is very, very bad.

Panel 4:Priya Patel pushes her oversized glasses up her nose, staring at Ampere . She looks calm on the surface, but her grip on her laptop is white-knuckled.

Priya Patel: The robot it

Panel 5:Jake Bennett takes a sip from his ever-present root beer, eyes fixed on Ampere . His face shows no emotion whatsoever, but his grip on the can is slightly tighter than usual.

Jake Bennett: We cannot build a new hydraulic system in seventy-two hours.

Panel 6:Wide shot of the entire team. Maya "Mo" Chen stands at the center, facing Ampere . The others surround her—Deshawn kneeling, Priya standing rigid, Jake holding his root beer, Trent Voss in his inside-out team jacket, arms crossed. Coach Ruiz is not yet visible. The workshop feels suddenly very small and very quiet.

Maya "Mo" Chen: Then we do it in seventy-two hours.

Narrator:Mo never backs down. It's her greatest strength and her most dangerous flaw.

PAGE 3

Panel 1:Coach Ruiz enters the workshop from the side door, carrying a stack of competition forms. She takes three steps before she notices the silent, tense cluster of students and the leak beneath Ampere . She stops dead. Her eyes move from the robot to Maya "Mo" Chen's face.

Panel 2:Coach Ruiz sets down the forms and walks directly to Ampere She kneels beside Deshawn, examining the leak. Her face is calm, professional, unshaken.

Coach Ruiz: Tell me everything. No panic. Just facts.

Panel 3:A rapid-fire sequence of close-ups as each team member speaks. Priya explains the hydraulic fracture. Deshawn describes the structural failure point. Jake outlines the timeline problem. Trent stands silent, listening. Each panel is tight, focused on the speaker's face and hands.

Priya Patel: Main cylinder cracked. Probably stress fracture from last competition. Deshawn Carter: The weld at the joint gave out. I should have reinforced it. Jake Bennett: Replacement parts won't arrive until tomorrow at earliest.

Panel 4:Maya "Mo" Chen suddenly turns to face the group, her ponytail whipping around. Her hands are on her hips. She looks at Coach Ruiz, then at each team member in turn.

Maya "Mo" Chen: We rebuild the hydraulic system from scratch. Deshawn handles mechanics. Priya codes the new pressure calibration. Jake troubleshoots the electronics integration.

Panel 5:Trent Voss steps forward, his inside-out team jacket catching the light. He's not angry, just clear-eyed.

Trent Voss: And what do I do, captain?

Panel 6:Maya "Mo" Chen's expression falters for a split second. She opens her mouth, then closes it. She hasn't thought about Trent. Coach Ruiz watches this moment—the crack in Mo's armor.

Narrator:The first sign that Mo cannot do this alone.

PAGE 4

Panel 1:Coach Ruiz steps between Maya "Mo" Chen and Trent Voss. She reaches into her lanyard pouch and pulls out a worn challenge coin, flipping it between her fingers. The engraved text "Gracious Professionalism" catches the light.

Coach Ruiz: Stop. This isn't how we work.

Panel 2:Coach Ruiz stands in the center of the group, the challenge coin held up so all six can see it. Her voice is steady, her eyes are on each of them in turn.

Coach Ruiz: Gracious Professionalism doesn't mean Mo makes all the decisions. It means we trust each other.

Panel 3:Maya "Mo" Chen looks at Coach Ruiz, then at Trent Voss. Her shoulders drop slightly. She takes a breath.

Maya "Mo" Chen: I'm sorry, Trent. I was... I was trying to solve this by myself.

Panel 4:Trent Voss's expression softens. He nods once, firmly.

Trent Voss: We need someone coordinating assembly. I can do that.

Panel 5:Deshawn Carter suddenly claps his hands together, startling everyone slightly. He grins widely.

Deshawn Carter: Then let's save this robot. Who's ready to pull an all-nighter?

Panel 6:Wide shot of all six team members and Coach Ruiz gathered around Ampere Their hands are coming together in the center—a unified gesture. Ampere sits on the workbench, waiting to be saved. The workshop lights cast sharp shadows but the group is tightly framed and united.

Narrator:One robot. Six people. Seventy-two hours.

PAGE 5

Panel 1:Time-lapse sequence begins. Montage panel one: Deshawn Carter is bent over Ampere chassis with a blowtorch, welding a new hydraulic line. Sparks fly around his face. His expression is intense, focused.

Panel 2:Montage panel two: Priya Patel's fingers fly across her laptop keyboard. Code streams down the screen behind her. Her oversized glasses reflect the blue light of the monitor. She looks calm but her jaw is set.

Panel 3:Montage panel three: Jake Bennett and Trent Voss work side by side, tracing wire paths through Ampere chassis. Jake points to something on a schematic. Trent nods and adjusts a wire harness. Both are focused, their movements coordinated.

Panel 4:Montage panel four: Maya "Mo" Chen stands back from Ampere , holding a checklist. She's not working on the robot directly—she's watching, coordinating, checking off items. Coach Ruiz is beside her, also observing. Mo's expression shows she's learning something new.

Coach Ruiz: Leadership isn't about doing everything. It's about making sure everything gets done.

Panel 5:Hours pass. The workshop is now darker outside the pool of fluorescent light. Empty energy drink cans and snack wrappers litter the workbenches. Ampere hydraulic system is now visibly rebuilt—new piping, new seals. The team is still working, but fatigue is starting to show in their postures.

Narrator:Hour thirty-six of seventy-two.

Panel 6:Close-up on Ampere chassis. The new hydraulic system gleams under the workshop lights. A single drop of fluid—clear, clean, the right fluid—drips slowly and then stops. The system holds. Deshawn's hand enters the frame from the left, pointing.

Deshawn Carter: It's holding. The pressure is stable.

PAGE 6

Panel 1:Priya Patel's laptop screen shows a final diagnostic run. Green text scrolls: PRESSURE_NOMINAL, FLOW_RATE_OPTIMAL, SYSTEM_STABLE. Her fingers rest on the keyboard. She doesn't look up.

Priya Patel: Code is locked. System is ready.

Panel 2:Jake Bennett stands back from Ampere root beer in hand. He's been awake for nearly two days—dark circles under his eyes, same bored expression. He takes a sip and nods slowly.

Jake Bennett: All systems integrated. No conflicts. We're good.

Panel 3:Trent Voss steps back from the final assembly. He's covered in grease, his inside-out team jacket is filthy, but he's smiling. He looks at Ampere with genuine pride.

Trent Voss: Every piece is aligned. Perfect tolerances.

Panel 4:Deshawn Carter wipes his hands on a rag, leaving fresh grease stains. He looks at Ampere and then at each of his teammates in turn. His expression shifts from exhausted to awestruck.

Deshawn Carter: We actually did it. Together.

Panel 5:Maya "Mo" Chen approaches Ampere She places one hand on its chassis. Her ponytail is completely undone now, hair falling around her shoulders. Her eyes are wet but her jaw is firm. She's not the same person who tried to solve this alone.

Narrator:Mo finally understands: she's not strong because she can do everything. She's strong because she lets others help carry the weight.

Panel 6:Coach Ruiz stands at the edge of the frame, watching all six students gathered around Ampere . She pulls the challenge coin from her lanyard again and holds it up. The engraved "Gracious Professionalism" is now fully visible. A small, satisfied smile crosses her face.

Narrator:This is what Gracious Professionalism looks like.

PAGE 7

Panel 1:Twenty-four hours later. The workshop is clean now, organized. Ampere sits on its transport cart, fully rebuilt, ready for competition. The morning light streams through the windows. The team stands in a loose semicircle facing the robot, but this time they're not tense—they're calm.

Narrator:The night before states.

Panel 2:Coach Ruiz activates Ampere power system. The robot's lights flicker on. The hydraulic system engages with a soft hiss—no squeaks, no grinding, just smooth operation. Ampere arm extends and retracts perfectly.

Panel 3:Jake Bennett watches the performance, root beer in hand. His face shows zero emotion, but he nods once—a tiny gesture that means everything.

Jake Bennett: It's perfect.

Panel 4:Priya Patel watches the hydraulic system cycle through its full range. She adjusts her oversized glasses and a tiny smile appears at the corner of her mouth—barely visible, but present.

Priya Patel: All parameters nominal.

Panel 5:Deshawn Carter reaches out and touches Ampere s chassis gently, almost reverently. His expression is proud, protective, grateful.

Deshawn Carter: We built this. All of us.

Panel 6:Maya "Mo" Chen stands at the center, surrounded by her team. Trent Voss is to her left, Deshawn to her right. Priya and Jake stand behind. Coach Ruiz stands slightly apart, watching. Mo's hand rests on Ampere chassis. Her ponytail is neatly braided now. Her face shows no fear, only resolve and trust.

Maya "Mo" Chen: Tomorrow we go to states. And we go as one.

PAGE 8

Panel 1:The state competition arena is massive—bleachers filled with students and families, dozens of robots from different teams lined up for inspection. The energy is electric. Ampere sits on the Incredibots' pit table, its lightning bolt logo gleaming under the arena lights.

Narrator:States. Everything they worked for comes down to this.

Panel 2:A sleek, matte-black robot with an aggressive snake-fang logo rolls past the Incredibots' pit table. This is Volt Viper . Its team walks alongside it with arrogant confidence. One of their builders smirks at Maya "Mo" Chen.

Volt Viper team member: Your robot looks like it was built in someone's garage.

Panel 3:Maya "Mo" Chen's face flushes. Her hands clench. She starts to respond, but Trent Voss steps forward slightly, placing a hand on her shoulder. He shakes his head—a clear signal: don't take the bait.

Panel 4:Coach Ruiz steps up beside both of them. She pulls the challenge coin from her lanyard—the worn "Gracious Professionalism" coin—and holds it where only her team can see it.

Coach Ruiz: We don't win by being better than them. We win by being better versions of ourselves.

Panel 5:Maya "Mo" Chen takes a deep breath. She looks at Coach Ruiz, then at Trent, then back toward her full team gathered around Ampere . Her expression shifts from anger to calm determination.

Maya "Mo" Chen: Let's show them what teamwork looks like.

Panel 6:The entire Incredibots team gathers around Ampere one final time before the match. All six stand united, hands together in the center—the same gesture from the workshop. Their faces show focus, trust, and determination.

Narrator:They are stronger together than they could ever be apart.

PAGE 9

Panel 1:The match begins. Ampere accelerates across the field with perfect precision. Its arm extends and grabs a game element, the newly rebuilt hydraulic system operating silently and smoothly. Volt Viper is on the opposite side of the field, its movements jerky and aggressive.

Panel 2:Volt Viper arm suddenly jerks and stops. Its hydraulic system has failed under the pressure of aggressive movement. The robot goes motionless. The Volt Viper team member from earlier watches in disbelief.

Panel 3:In the Incredibots pit, Jake Bennett watches the screens showing Ampere performance. His expression is unchanged—same bored monotone—but his fingers grip his root beer can so tightly it crinkles slightly. A victory.

Panel 4:The match ends. Ampere has scored significantly higher than Volt Viper . The scoreboard displays the Incredibots' victory in bold numbers. The crowd erupts in cheers.

Narrator:First place. But that's not what matters anymore.

Panel 5:The entire Incredibots team rushes toward Ampere , lifting it off the ground in celebration. All six—Maya "Mo" Chen, Deshawn Carter, Priya Patel, Jake Bennett, Trent Voss, and Coach Ruiz—are holding the robot, laughing, celebrating. Their faces show genuine joy, not just at winning, but at having done it together.

Deshawn Carter: We did it! We actually did it! Maya "Mo" Chen: No. We did it. All of us.

Panel 6:Final panel: The team stands on the podium. They hold the first-place trophy together, all six hands on it. Coach Ruiz stands behind them, the challenge coin visible in her lanyard, hanging at her chest. The arena lights shine down on them like a spotlight. In the background, the crowd applauds. The Incredibots' lightning bolt logo on Ampere gleams in the light, and the robot sits proudly on the field below the podium.

Narrator:Teamwork. Not the word they read in their team handbook. The word they lived.
