Complicating matters, sharp-tongued journalist Sandra Owen is sniffing around for a story on Masquerade, making Amara's double life dangerously precarious. With Remy operating as Robert's inside man at the party, Amara must slip away, become Masquerade, expose the scheme, and return before Sandra connects the dots.

Panel 1:Wide aerial view of a sprawling modern mansion at night, its floor-to-ceiling windows blazing with golden chandelier light. Luxury cars line the circular driveway. A banner reads 'ELITE INVITATIONAL — PRIVATE EVENT'.
Narrator:“Hartwell Manor. The kind of party where secrets cost more than the champagne.”
Panel 2:Amara Aslong stands near the entrance, barefoot on the marble steps, leather jacket open over her cropped black t-shirt and black pants. She twirls a strand of blonde hair around one finger and lets out a loud, bubbly laugh toward a group of well-dressed teens.
“Amara Aslong: Oh my gosh, I literally cannot even pick a favourite diamond — they're all SO pretty!”
Panel 3:Behind her smile, Amara's sharp eyes track across the ballroom. She spots Remy — slick tuxedo, black gloves, cold smirk — leaning against a pillar and speaking quietly to a nervous-looking teen boy.
Panel 4:Close-up on Remy's gloved hand passing a small sealed envelope to the nervous teen. The teen's face is pale, jaw tight.

Panel 1:Sandra Owen stands near the drinks table, brunette hair pulled back sharply, notepad tucked under one arm. She watches the ballroom with narrowed eyes, unimpressed by the spectacle around her.
“Sandra Owen: Rich kids burning money while the city crumbles. Typical.”
Panel 2:Amara glides up beside Sandra with an exaggerated grin, clutching a sparkling water glass in both hands like it's the most exciting thing she's ever held.
“Amara Aslong: Isn't this party just, like, the BEST? Sandra Owen: Sure. If you enjoy watching money rot.”
Panel 3:Sandra pulls out her notepad and fixes Amara with a sharp, searching look.
“Sandra Owen: I'm here chasing a lead. That vigilante — Masquerade. Someone at these parties always knows something.”
Panel 4:Amara's eyes go wide in exaggerated, theatrical shock, free hand pressed to her cheek.
“Amara Aslong: Oh WOW, Masquerade? She sounds SO scary! Sandra Owen: She sounds like a liability.”
Panel 5:Over Sandra's shoulder, Amara's gaze drifts — she spots Remy disappearing through a side door marked PRIVATE, slipping away from the main ballroom.
PAGE 3
Panel 1:Amara excuses herself with a ditzy wave and slips into a narrow hallway, glancing back to confirm no one followed. The corridor is dim, lit only by sconce lights along wood-panelled walls.
“Amara Aslong: Powder room! Back in a sec!”
Panel 2:Inside a locked powder room, Amara yanks the purple wig from a hidden bag inside her leather jacket. She stares at her own reflection in the mirror — blonde hair, sharp eyes, jaw set.
Narrator:“The dumb blonde clocks out. Masquerade clocks in.”
Panel 3:Full-body shot: Masquerade stands in the powder room, purple wig on, black domino mask in place, spiked purple jacket over the black-and-purple bralette and purple leggings, voice-modulating choker clasped at her throat.
Panel 4:Masquerade cracks the powder room window open and slides out into the dark side garden of the mansion, landing silently on the grass in a low crouch.
PAGE 4
Panel 1:Masquerade peers through a ground-floor window into a private study. Inside, Robert Jenkins — brown-haired, plain-faced, eyes burning with resentment — sits behind a desk covered in files and printed photos. A laptop shows social media profiles of wealthy teens.
Narrator:“Robert Jenkins. Not a guest. The architect.”
Panel 2:Inside the study, Remy enters through the interior door and drops a stack of envelopes on the desk. Robert snatches them up greedily.
“Remy: Twelve tonight. All signed. Robert Jenkins: Good. By morning, they'll pay anything to keep quiet.”
Panel 3:Robert fans out the envelopes — each one labelled with a teen's name and a dollar amount. His expression is cold and satisfied.
“Robert Jenkins: They threw their money around like it meant nothing. Now it means everything — to me.”
Panel 4:Masquerade's jaw tightens as she watches through the window, hand pressed flat against the glass pane.
Panel 5:Masquerade pulls back from the window, crouching in the garden shadows. She taps her voice-modulating choker twice — activating it — then pulls out a small phone and dials.
“Masquerade : Someone's running a blackmail ring inside this party. I need five minutes and a distraction.”
PAGE 5
Panel 1:Back inside the ballroom, Sandra Owen is circulating through the crowd, pen in hand, stopping teens and asking them questions. Several look uncomfortable, some shake their heads.
“Sandra Owen: Have you heard anything unusual tonight? Anyone pressuring you?”
Panel 2:One teen — a young woman in a red dress, mascara smudged — grabs Sandra's sleeve and leans in close, whispering urgently.
“Sandra Owen: Slow down. Tell me exactly what he said to you.”
Panel 3:Sandra's expression shifts from contempt to genuine alarm. She snaps her notepad shut and strides toward the edge of the ballroom with purpose.
Narrator:“For all her contempt for the rich, Sandra Owen couldn't ignore a crime unfolding right in front of her.”
Panel 4:Sandra pushes open the door to the private corridor — and freezes. At the far end of the hall, a purple-wigged, masked figure (Masquerade) is crouched at the study door, picking the lock.
“Sandra Owen: You. Masquerade. Stop right there.”
PAGE 6
Panel 1:Masquerade stands upright and faces Sandra, one hand still on the study door handle. Her modulated voice is calm. Sandra holds her pen like a weapon and plants her feet.
“Masquerade : Walk away, Owen. You'll get your story — after. Sandra Owen: After what? After you tamper with evidence?”
Panel 2:Inside the study, Robert Jenkins hears raised voices. He snaps upright and shoves the envelopes into a briefcase. Remy grabs Robert's arm and points to the window.
“Remy: Someone's outside. We move. Now.”
Panel 3:Masquerade shoves the study door open and lunges inside. The room is half-empty — Remy is already halfway through the open window. Robert bolts for the interior door.
“Masquerade : Split up? Really?”
Panel 4:Masquerade makes a split-second decision — she spins and sprints after Robert through the interior door, leaving the window behind.
Panel 5:Sandra rushes to the study window and watches Remy disappear into the dark garden below. She slams her hands on the windowsill, furious.
“Sandra Owen: Unbelievable. He's gone.”
PAGE 7
Panel 1:Wide shot: Robert Jenkins barrels through the ballroom in a panic, shoving past partygoers, briefcase clutched to his chest. The crowd parts in shock. Chandeliers blaze overhead.
Panel 2:Masquerade bursts through the ballroom door after him, spiked purple jacket catching the chandelier light. The crowd gasps and parts again.
Panel 3:Robert reaches the main doors and shoves them open — but Masquerade is faster, sliding across a polished marble table and landing in front of him, blocking the exit. Her stance is wide, arms out.
“Masquerade : Twelve families. Their secrets. Hand over the briefcase.”
Panel 4:Robert's face twists with fury and desperation. He clutches the briefcase with both arms.
“Robert Jenkins: They DESERVE this! Every last penny they waste — — while people like me have nothing!”
Panel 5:Masquerade's expression is steady behind her mask. She speaks calmly, directly, head slightly tilted.
“Masquerade : Resentment isn't justice, Jenkins. This ends now.”
Panel 6:Masquerade snatches the briefcase from Robert's grip with a sharp twist of her wrist. Robert stumbles backward and crashes into the wall, sliding down to sit on the floor, defeated.
PAGE 8
Panel 1:Sandra Owen strides into the ballroom entrance just in time to see Masquerade standing over the seated, deflated Robert Jenkins, briefcase in hand. Sandra's pen is already out.
“Sandra Owen: Don't move. Either of you.”
Panel 2:Masquerade sets the briefcase down in front of Sandra and holds her gaze for a beat — then turns and walks toward the side corridor without a word.
“Masquerade : The evidence is all in there. Names, amounts, everything. Sandra Owen: Hey — I have questions for you!”
Panel 3:Sandra stares after the empty corridor where Masquerade vanished. Her expression is conflicted — frustrated, but the open briefcase at her feet holds stacks of blackmail envelopes. Story of a lifetime.
Narrator:“Sandra Owen hated vigilantes. But she couldn't argue with results.”
Panel 4:In the powder room, Amara Aslong stands before the mirror again — wig off, mask off, leather jacket back on. She smooths her blonde hair and takes a breath. The purple wig sits folded neatly on the vanity.
Panel 5:Amara sashays back into the ballroom, barefoot on the marble, grinning as if she never left. She spots Sandra Owen questioning Robert Jenkins — now surrounded by arriving security — and her eyes flick away casually.
“Amara Aslong: Oh wow, did I miss something? What happened?”
Panel 6:Extreme close-up on Amara's eye — a glint of sharp intelligence behind the wide, innocent expression. A half-smile plays at the corner of her lips.
Narrator:“Amara Aslong. Ditzy socialite. Total airhead. Absolutely harmless.”
