Emerald Midnight pt 4
Still trapped in Desirable's desire spell at the gala, Emerald Essence and Midnight Star are lost in their enchanted longings while Officer Reyes ( remember she doesn’t know the heroes real identities )fights to reach them. Maya, Tamara's A.I. companion, nearly breaks through — but not before the two heroes share a spontaneous kiss. The kiss shatters the spell completely, snapping both women back to themselves. Freed, the three women — Emerald Essence, Midnight Star, and Officer Reyes — vow to track Desirable down. Unbeknownst to them, Desirable has already slipped away to a shadowy location where she meets Death Skull to discuss the next phase of their sinister plan. To be continued.

PAGE 1
Panel 1:Wide shot of the grand gala ballroom — overturned champagne glasses, scattered flower arrangements, dazed guests sitting on the floor or stumbling. In the centre of the hall, Emerald Essence in green and brown armour hovers a few feet off the ground, arms spread wide, eyes closed in bliss, caught in the desire spell. Midnight Star in black and gold suit stands nearby, swaying, her gold star glowing faintly pink from Desirable's enchantment.
Narrator:“The gala hall. Still enchanted. Still lost.”
Panel 2:Officer Reyes stands between the two heroes, her police uniform dishevelled, badge catching the light. She grabs Midnight Star firmly by both shoulders, shaking her, her face tight with urgency.
“Officer Reyes: Tamara! Listen to me — this is the spell talking!”
Panel 3:Close-up on Midnight Star's face — eyes half-open, glazed with the pink shimmer of the desire spell, a distant smile on her lips. She is not fully present.
“Midnight Star/ Tamara Collins: It's so... warm, Maya. Let me stay...”
Panel 4:A glowing golden text-box rendered inside Midnight Star's mind — depicted as a small luminous rectangle floating in dark mental space, representing Maya's A.I. voice. The text pulses with urgency.
Narrator:“Maya — the A.I. in Tamara's mind — pushes hard against the spell's hold.”
Panel 5:Same mental-space panel — the golden rectangle flares brighter, crackling with blue energy, breaking through pink static. Words appear sharply.
“Maya: Tamara. Focus on my voice. ONLY my voice.”

Panel 1:Officer Reyes has moved to Emerald Essence, gripping the heroine's armoured forearm and tugging downward. Emerald Essence floats, eyes still closed, green armour glowing faintly pink, a serene expression on her face.
“Officer Reyes: Clarissa, come DOWN. Now!”
Panel 2:Emerald Essence's eyes flutter half-open, unfocused, a dreamy smile playing across her lips beneath her green eye mask.
“Emerald Essence/ Clarissa Barnes: The sky... I just want to fly free...”
Panel 3:Back in the mental mindscape — Midnight Star kneels in the dark mental space, the golden Maya-rectangle towering before her, blazing blue. Tamara's hands are pressed to her temples, straining.
“Maya: She's counting on you staying asleep. Wake UP, Tamara!”
Panel 4:Wide shot of the ballroom floor. Officer Reyes stands between both heroes, looking from one to the other, jaw set, hands clenched at her sides. Dazed gala guests mill behind her.
“Officer Reyes: I can't reach both of them at once.”
PAGE 3
Panel 1:In the mindscape — Midnight Star's eyes snap open wide, blue light flooding across her face, the pink shimmer cracking like glass around her head.
“Midnight Star/ Tamara Collins: Maya... I hear you.”
Panel 2:Back in the ballroom — Midnight Star's body shudders visibly, the pink shimmer on her gold star flickering and stuttering. Her head drops forward then snaps up, eyes beginning to clear.
Panel 3:Officer Reyes spins toward Midnight Star, relief crossing her face. But Midnight Star's gaze drifts immediately to Emerald Essence hovering nearby, still enchanted, still smiling distantly.
“Midnight Star/ Tamara Collins: Clarissa — she's still under.”
Panel 4:Midnight Star reaches up and takes Emerald Essence's hovering hand in both of hers, pulling her gently downward. Their faces are close — Emerald Essence still dreamy, Midnight Star urgent and present.
“Midnight Star/ Tamara Collins: Clarissa. Come back. I need you HERE.”
Panel 5:Extreme close-up on their joined hands — Midnight Star's black-and-gold gauntlet wrapped around Emerald Essence's green-and-brown armoured hand. Pink enchantment energy visibly seeps away from Emerald Essence's gauntlet.
PAGE 4
Panel 1:Medium shot. Midnight Star and Emerald Essence face each other, inches apart, feet on the ground now. Emerald Essence's eyes are almost focused — fluttering, the pink shimmer still clinging to her green eye mask. Midnight Star's expression is fierce and tender at once.
“Midnight Star/ Tamara Collins: Stay with me, Clarissa.”
Panel 2:The kiss — Emerald Essence leans forward and presses her lips to Midnight Star's. Both women's armour suddenly blazes: green and brown energy from Emerald Essence, black and gold from Midnight Star, the two auras colliding in a burst of light that shatters the pink enchantment energy outward in a visible shockwave.
Panel 3:The pink enchantment energy — depicted as heart-shaped particles — explodes outward from the two heroes and dissolves into nothing. The chandelier light returns to normal warm gold. Both women stand apart, slightly breathless, staring at each other.
Panel 4:Close-up on Emerald Essence's face — green eye mask, red hair loose around the armour. Her green eyes are fully sharp and present. A small flush of colour in her cheeks. She blinks hard.
“Emerald Essence/ Clarissa Barnes: That... worked.”
PAGE 5
Panel 1:The three women — Emerald Essence, Midnight Star, and Officer Reyes — stand together in a loose triangle in the cleared centre of the ballroom. The dazed guests are dispersing to the edges. Officer Reyes has her badge visible, her expression shifting from relief to hard focus.
“Officer Reyes: Good. You're both back. Now — where did Desirable go?”
Panel 2:Midnight Star turns to scan the room, her black and gold suit gleaming, gold star on her chest restored to its clean shine. Her fists are clenched at her sides.
“Midnight Star/ Tamara Collins: She was here minutes ago. She can't be far.”
Panel 3:Emerald Essence crouches at the spot where Desirable stood — the floor is faintly scorched with a heart-shaped burn mark from the staff. She examines it closely, fingers hovering above the mark without touching.
“Emerald Essence/ Clarissa Barnes: She left a trail. The staff leaves a residue.”
Panel 4:Over-shoulder shot from behind Officer Reyes, looking toward Emerald Essence and Midnight Star. Reyes has her notepad out and pen raised. Her posture is authoritative.
“Officer Reyes: Then we follow it. All three of us. Tonight. Midnight Star/ Tamara Collins: Agreed. Emerald Essence/ Clarissa Barnes: Let's move.”
Panel 5:Wide establishing shot of the ballroom exit — the three heroes stride toward the double doors together, silhouetted against the light beyond. Emerald Essence in green-brown armour on the left, Midnight Star in black and gold in the centre, Officer Reyes in uniform on the right.
Narrator:“They don't know they're already too late to catch her.”

Panel 1:Establishing shot — a dark, rain-slicked industrial rooftop somewhere across the city. Rusted ventilation stacks. A water tower. City lights glittering far below. A single bare bulb hangs from a wire above a cracked concrete doorway.
Narrator:“Across Millhaven City. A location the heroes have not found. Not yet.”
Panel 2:Desirable stands at the rooftop's edge, her flowing black hair whipping in the wind, her stunning dress catching the city light below. She holds her heart-topped staff loosely at her side, its pink glow dim now. Her posture is relaxed, victorious.
“Desirable: They broke the spell. Faster than I expected.”
Panel 3:Death Skull steps out of the doorway shadow onto the rooftop — a menacing silhouette with signature skull iconography, her face partially obscured by shadow. She folds her arms, unimpressed.
“Death Skull: It doesn't matter. The spell was only the distraction.”
Panel 4:Over-the-shoulder shot — Desirable turns from the city edge to face Death Skull. Both women face each other across the wet rooftop, the city sprawl glittering behind Desirable.
“Desirable: A distraction from what, exactly? Death Skull: Phase two. We move on the city's power grid.”
PAGE 7
Panel 1:Close-up on Death Skull's face, partially shadowed, eyes hard and calculating, a thin smile visible.
“Death Skull: Millhaven goes dark — the heroes scramble. That's when we strike.”
Panel 2:Desirable raises her heart-topped staff, its pink gem beginning to glow again. She looks down at it with a satisfied expression.
“Desirable: And you need me for the next part.”
Panel 3:Death Skull and Desirable stand side by side at the rooftop edge, looking out over the glittering Millhaven City skyline. Death Skull points toward the distant lights of the city's central power station — a cluster of towers with blinking red warning lights.
“Death Skull: I need your spell on the grid's security team. Desirable: Done.”
Panel 4:Tight two-shot of Death Skull and Desirable — both facing camera, expressions set with shared purpose. The heart-topped staff glows pink between them. City lights frame them like a crown.
Narrator:“A sinister alliance. A city unaware.”
Panel 5:Wide shot — the industrial rooftop from a distance, the two small figures of Death Skull and Desirable visible against the vast glittering city spread below and behind them. The city looks beautiful and vulnerable.
PAGE 8
Panel 1:Back at the gala — exterior of the Grand Pavilion building. Emerald Essence hovers above the entrance, scanning the street below. Officer Reyes stands on the steps with her police radio pressed to her ear. Midnight Star stands beside Reyes, arms crossed, scanning the opposite direction.
“Officer Reyes: No sightings on the north side. She's gone.”
Panel 2:Midnight Star tilts her head — the tell of Maya communicating — her gold star flickering briefly as she receives input. Her expression sharpens.
“Midnight Star/ Tamara Collins: Maya's running a scan of the city grid. She'll find something.”
Panel 3:Emerald Essence drops from her hover to street level, landing in a crouch beside Officer Reyes. She looks up from under her green eye mask, expression firm.
“Emerald Essence/ Clarissa Barnes: She won't stay hidden. Her kind never does.”
Panel 4:The three women stand together on the pavilion steps — Emerald Essence in green-brown armour, Midnight Star in black and gold, Officer Reyes in her police uniform. All three face outward toward the dark city, determined. The city skyline stretches behind them, lights blinking in the distance.
Narrator:“Three heroes. One city. And a darkness already in motion.”
Panel 5:Final panel — a narrow, vertical insert panel. The heart-topped staff's pink gem glows in extreme close-up, pulsing ominously. In the reflected surface of the gem, the tiny shapes of Emerald Essence, Midnight Star, and Officer Reyes are visible, unknowing.
Narrator:“To be continued...”
