PAGE 1

Panel 1:Wide shot of a grimy Millhaven City alley at night. Broken crates and scattered cash litter the ground. Five members of the Death Skulls gang lie defeated, zip-tied back to back beside a dumpster. Emerald Essence stands over them in her green-and-brown armour and green eye mask, fists at her sides, vines retreating back into the cracked asphalt. Midnight Star stands a few feet away in her black-and-gold suit, a gold star gleaming on her chest, arms crossed.

Panel 2:Medium shot of Death Skull — a female gang leader in a skull-painted jacket — sitting slumped and zip-tied against the dumpster, glaring upward. A fresh bruise marks her cheek. Her skull-logo jacket is torn at the shoulder.

“Death Skull : You two got lucky. Voss will finish what we started.”

Panel 3:Close-up on Midnight Star's face, one eyebrow raised, a thin smirk on her lips. Gold star-shaped light flickers faintly at the corner of her eye — the subtle glow of her internal AI.

“Midnight Star/ Tamara Collins: Voss. That name keeps coming up. Maya — run it.”

Panel 4:Split-panel effect: on the left, Midnight Star stands in the alley. On the right, a glowing golden data-display floats in a dark void — no physical body, just luminous text and a stylised star icon representing Maya's presence in Tamara's mind.

“Maya: Voss — top-tier mercenary. No fixed address. But tonight he's attending the Aldren Gala. Private event, Harbor District.”

Panel 5:Medium two-shot of Emerald Essence and Midnight Star facing each other. Emerald Essence has removed her helmet slightly, red hair visible at the edges, green eyes sharp. Midnight Star holds out one gauntleted fist for a fist-bump.

“Emerald Essence/ Clarissa Barnes: A gala. Perfect place to set a trap. Midnight Star/ Tamara Collins: Together, then. We end this tonight.”

PAGE 2

Panel 1:Interior of the Millhaven Courier newsroom, next morning. Fluorescent lights buzz overhead. Cluttered desks stretch across the open floor. Frank Doyle stands at the head of the bullpen, sleeves rolled up, tie askew, wire-rimmed glasses pushed up his nose, gesturing with a pencil at a whiteboard covered in story headlines.

“Frank Doyle: Barnes! I need eight hundred words on the Death Skulls arrest by noon.”

Panel 2:Clarissa Barnes sits at her desk, green jacket on, emerald pendant visible at her collar, red hair slightly dishevelled. She types rapidly on a laptop. Marco Venn leans on the edge of her desk, professional camera hanging around his neck, grinning.

“Marco Venn: Big night, huh? You look like you fought a gang. Clarissa Barnes/ Emerald Essence: Funny. I need a favour, Marco.”

Panel 3:Close-up on Clarissa's hand, pressing down on the emerald pendant at her collar. Her knuckles are white. Her green eyes are fixed off-panel with focus.

“Clarissa Barnes/ Emerald Essence: Get me a press pass to the Aldren Gala tonight. Just get it. Marco Venn: That event is sealed tighter than city hall. How—”

Panel 4:Wide shot of the newsroom. Frank Doyle has returned to his glass-walled office in the background, visible through the window, phone to his ear. Marco Venn walks away from Clarissa's desk, camera swinging. Clarissa stares at her laptop screen, a browser tab open showing a photo of a sleek harbour-front building labelled 'ALDREN TOWER — PRIVATE GALA TONIGHT'.

PAGE 3

Panel 1:Establishing shot of Aldren Tower at dusk — a sleek glass skyscraper on Millhaven's harbour front. Limousines queue at the entrance. A red carpet leads inside past velvet ropes. Guests in evening wear file in under warm golden exterior lights. The harbour glitters behind the building.

Narrator:“The Aldren Gala. Eight o'clock. Harbor District.”

Panel 2:Inside the tower's grand ballroom. Crystal chandeliers blaze overhead. Round tables draped in white linen fill the floor. A raised stage sits at the far end. Officer Reyes stands near a side pillar in her police uniform, badge catching the chandelier light, scanning the room with sharp brown eyes, one hand resting on her utility belt.

“Officer Reyes: Security sweep done. No obvious weapons. But something feels off.”

Panel 3:Voss stands near the bar at the edge of the ballroom. He is a lean, hard-faced man in an expensive dark suit, salt-and-pepper close-cropped hair, a coiled scar along his jaw. He holds a glass of water, eyes moving slowly across the room like a predator counting exits.

Panel 4:High-angle shot looking down from a ventilation grate in the ceiling. Two figures crouch in the air duct: Emerald Essence in her green-and-brown armour and Midnight Star in her black-and-gold suit. Both peer through the grate slats at the ballroom below. Midnight Star points one finger toward Voss at the bar.

“Midnight Star/ Tamara Collins: Target acquired. Bar, eleven o'clock. Emerald Essence/ Clarissa Barnes: We wait for him to move away from the crowd.”

Panel 5:Medium shot from inside the duct, looking at both heroes crouched side by side. A faint gold glow pulses at Midnight Star's temple — Maya communicating. Emerald Essence grips the grate, green eyes narrowed.

“Maya: Voss has two armed contacts in the building. East stairwell. Emerald Essence/ Clarissa Barnes: Good. We take him before they know what hit them.”

PAGE 4

Panel 1:Wide shot of the ballroom from a corner. Guests mingle and laugh. A string quartet plays on the small stage. Officer Reyes has moved to the main entrance doors, talking into her radio earpiece, back straight. Nothing seems amiss. Chandeliers blaze warmly.

Narrator:“Everything looked perfect. That was the problem.”

Panel 2:Close-up on a shadow behind a grand velvet curtain near the stage. Two feminine hands in long black gloves grip a staff — its top carved into a gleaming heart shape. The tip of flowing black hair is just visible at the curtain's edge.

Panel 3:Back in the air duct, Midnight Star presses a finger to her temple. Her eyes go wide — a sudden flash of gold light at her pupils.

“Midnight Star/ Tamara Collins: What kind of signature? Maya: Tamara. Energy signature below — not Voss. Desirable . She's already in position.”

Panel 4:Medium shot of Emerald Essence turning sharply in the cramped duct, grabbing the grate with both gauntleted hands, about to rip it open.

“Emerald Essence/ Clarissa Barnes: Desirable set a trap — for us. Midnight Star/ Tamara Collins: We spring it on our terms. Move!”

PAGE 5

Panel 1:Full-width panel: the ceiling grate bursts open with an explosive clang. Emerald Essence drops down in a controlled descent, green vines shooting from her gauntlets to anchor to a chandelier chain and slow her fall. Midnight Star drops alongside her, black-and-gold suit trailing a streak of gold light. Guests below scatter from the tables. The string quartet stops mid-note.

Panel 2:Medium shot: Voss at the bar spins around, dropping his glass. His hand reaches inside his jacket. His scarred jaw is tight, eyes locked on the two descending heroes.

“Voss: Heroes. Someone talked.”

Panel 3:The velvet curtain beside the stage explodes outward in a shower of pink-red energy hearts. Desirable steps forward in full view — flowing black hair, stunning floor-length dress, heart-topped staff raised high. She looks far younger than her years, expression composed and delighted. Guests stumble back from her.

“Desirable: Heroes. Right on schedule. I was counting on you.”

Panel 4:Over-the-shoulder shot from behind Emerald Essence. Both heroes face Desirable across the ballroom floor, twenty feet apart. Voss is visible at the edge of the frame, frozen at the bar, watching.

“Emerald Essence/ Clarissa Barnes: Desirable. Step away from the staff. Desirable: Or what, little guardian? You'll plant flowers?”

PAGE 6

Panel 1:Midnight Star launches forward, both fists trailing gold star-light, aimed at Desirable's staff. Her boots leave the floor in a powerful leap.

Panel 2:Desirable pivots with surprising speed and grace, swinging the heart-topped staff in a wide arc. The staff glows bright pink-red. Midnight Star is caught mid-air by the staff's flat side and knocked sideways into a banquet table, sending dishes and glasses flying.

Panel 3:Emerald Essence thrusts both arms forward. Thick green vines erupt from the ballroom's potted ficus trees and flower arrangements, snaking across the floor toward Desirable's ankles.

“Emerald Essence/ Clarissa Barnes: Hold still!”

Panel 4:Desirable leaps lightly onto a table, the vines grasping only air beneath her feet. She laughs, pointing the heart staff downward at the retreating vines.

“Desirable: So eager. So controlled. Let me fix that.”

Panel 5:Wide shot: Officer Reyes bursts through the main ballroom doors, gun drawn, badge gleaming. She takes in the chaos — two costumed heroes, a villainess on a table, terrified guests — and plants her feet in a wide stance.

“Officer Reyes: Everyone freeze! Police!”

Panel 6:Close-up on Desirable's face: a slow, wide, predatory smile spreads across her lips. Her eyes cut sideways toward Officer Reyes with unmistakable calculation.

“Desirable: Oh, Officer. You're just in time.”

PAGE 7

Panel 1:Desirable swings her heart-topped staff toward Officer Reyes. A burst of pink-red heart-shaped energy flies across the room. Officer Reyes dives behind a pillar, the energy bolt shattering a wall mirror behind her in a shower of glass.

Panel 2:Midnight Star is back on her feet, gold star on her chest pulsing. She drives a hard elbow into a charging figure — one of Voss's armed contacts, a heavyset man in a black suit. The contact crumples.

“Midnight Star/ Tamara Collins: Maya — where's Voss? Maya: He's heading for the east stairwell. Now!”

Panel 3:Medium shot from behind: Voss is halfway to a door marked EXIT — STAIRWELL, moving fast, jacket now open to reveal a holstered firearm. He doesn't look back.

Panel 4:Emerald Essence looks between Voss's retreating back and Desirable on the table — her gaze torn, jaw set. Midnight Star lands beside her, pointing toward the stairwell.

“Emerald Essence/ Clarissa Barnes: We can't let Voss walk. Midnight Star/ Tamara Collins: Desirable first. She'll burn this place down otherwise.”

Panel 5:Desirable steps down from the table, staff held horizontally with both hands, smiling. She walks slowly toward the two heroes, unhurried, completely in control.

“Desirable: Such noble little desires. Protect everyone. But what do YOU truly want?”

PAGE 8

Panel 1:Emerald Essence charges Desirable head-on, one arm back to deliver a gauntlet punch. Her green eyes are fierce. Vines trail behind her across the ballroom floor.

Panel 2:Desirable side-steps the punch with fluid, dancer-like grace. As Emerald Essence passes her, Desirable brings the heart-topped staff up and presses it flat against Emerald Essence's armoured back. The heart glows blinding pink-red at the point of contact.

Panel 3:Extreme close-up on Emerald Essence's eyes behind the green mask. Both pupils dilate wide. Her irises flood with a bright pink-red glow — Desirable's desire energy taking hold.

Panel 4:Midnight Star lunges at Desirable from the side, both fists blazing gold. Desirable spins, swinging the staff in a full rotation. The heart-top connects with Midnight Star's chest — directly on the gold star emblem — and blasts her backward. Pink-red energy crackles across the gold suit.

Panel 5:Extreme close-up on Midnight Star's eyes. Her gold irises fracture with spreading veins of pink-red light. Her expression shifts — jaw slackening, eyes going wide and glassy.

Panel 6:Wide shot: both heroes stand in the middle of the ballroom, a few feet apart, staring at nothing. Their bodies are upright but rigid, arms limp at their sides. Their eyes glow with pink-red light. Desirable stands between them, staff lowered, looking from one to the other with quiet satisfaction. The ballroom is empty of guests now — overturned chairs, scattered flowers, a lone chandelier swaying.

“Desirable: There. No more masks.”

PAGE 9

Panel 1:Inside Emerald Essence's mind — a visual representation. The ballroom dissolves into a dreamscape sky above Millhaven City at night, seen from high altitude. Emerald Essence floats in mid-air in her armour, surrounded by open sky, wind pulling at her. Below, the city glitters. There are no walls, no duties, no ground. Pure freedom. Her arms are spread wide, face turned upward, mouth open.

Narrator:“The desire she'd buried under every patrol, every headline, every responsibility.”

Panel 2:Inside Midnight Star's mind — a visual representation. Tamara Collins stands in civilian clothes — no suit, no star emblem — in a quiet sunlit kitchen. She sits at a table across from an empty chair. On the table: two cups of coffee, a phone face-down. The empty chair represents an absence. Tamara stares at the empty chair, hands wrapped around her cup.

Narrator:“A life without the voice in her head. A morning that belonged only to her.”

Panel 3:Back in the real ballroom. Officer Reyes steps out from behind the pillar, gun still raised. She sees both heroes standing motionless, eyes glowing pink-red, and freezes. Desirable turns slowly to face Officer Reyes.

“Officer Reyes: What did you do to them? Desirable: What they did to themselves. I just opened the door.”

Panel 4:Close-up on Officer Reyes's face: jaw set, eyes hard. She keeps the gun trained on Desirable, two hands steady on the grip. Her badge catches the chandelier light.

“Officer Reyes: Step away from the staff. Last warning.”

Panel 5:Desirable tilts her head, looking at Officer Reyes the way a chess player looks at a piece. She raises the heart-topped staff slowly, the heart beginning to pulse pink-red again.

“Desirable: I wonder... what does an officer of the law truly desire?”

PAGE 10

Panel 1:Wide shot of the ballroom. Both heroes stand frozen, eyes blazing pink-red. Officer Reyes holds her gun up with both hands pointed at Desirable. Desirable stands centre stage, staff raised, its heart glowing brighter than ever. Voss is visible in the open stairwell doorway at the far edge of the frame — he pauses, looks back at the scene, then steps through the door and is gone.

Panel 2:Close-up on Emerald Essence's face. Behind the pink-red glow in her eyes, a small flicker of green — her own power — pulses once in her right iris. Her jaw tightens. Her fingers curl into a fist at her side.

Narrator:“Somewhere beneath the desire, Clarissa Barnes was still fighting.”

Panel 3:Close-up on Midnight Star's face. The pink-red fracture-light in her eyes suddenly pulses hard — and in the gold of her irises, a tiny gold star shape flares back defiantly for one instant before being swallowed again by the pink-red.

Narrator:“And somewhere in the static, Maya was screaming.”

Panel 4:Full-page panel. Desirable stands at the absolute centre of the ballroom, framed by the grand chandelier above her and the two frozen heroes flanking her on either side. She holds the heart-topped staff high overhead with both hands, the heart blazing with a massive bloom of pink-red energy that fills the upper half of the panel with heart-shaped sparks raining down. Her expression is triumphant and cold. Officer Reyes is small in the background, gun still raised, alone. The ballroom is ruined — overturned tables, scattered flowers, broken glass — but Desirable stands in it like a queen.

“Desirable: Heroes. Desires. Such a thin line between them. Welcome to mine.”

Narrator:“To be continued...”
