PAGE 1

Panel 1:A college dorm room in Los Angeles. Tamara Collins — young white woman in a white top and blue shorts — stands in the center of the room staring down at her own hands. The room is slightly scorched around the edges, furniture pushed back. Golden light residue fades from the walls.

Narrator:Los Angeles. Minutes after everything changed.

Panel 2:Close-up on Tamara's face — wide eyes, jaw tight, breathing hard. She is still in her regular clothes.

Tamara Collins: Okay. Okay. That actually just happened.

Panel 3:Tamara raises both arms out to her sides and squeezes her eyes shut. A cascade of black and gold energy spirals outward from her body, the costume materializing around her — black and gold suit, black eye mask snapping into place.

Panel 4:Midnight Star stands fully costumed, looking down at herself, turning her gloved hands over slowly. The room is normal again — just a dorm room.

Midnight Star: It fits. It actually fits.

Panel 5:A beat — then a bright, warm golden glow pulses from inside Midnight Star's chest. She freezes, hand flying to her sternum.

Maya: Easy. Don't panic — I'm a friend.

Narrator:The voice comes from everywhere and nowhere at once.

PAGE 2

Panel 1:Midnight Star spins around the room, looking left and right, searching for the source of the voice. No one is there.

Midnight Star: Who said that? Where are you?

Panel 2:Close-up on Midnight Star's masked face, eyes narrowed. A soft golden shimmer drifts in front of her eyes — not a physical form, just a warm light that speaks.

Maya: I'm inside the power. My name is Maya. I was the previous Midnight Star's guide. Now I'm yours.

Panel 3:Midnight Star lowers her fists slowly. Her shoulders drop from a defensive hunch. She points at the shimmer with one finger.

Midnight Star: You knew her? The other me? Maya: She was my best friend. I miss her every day.

Panel 4:Wide two-shot: Midnight Star sits on the edge of the dorm bed, the golden shimmer hovering at eye level in front of her like a small sun.

Midnight Star: So you're stuck in my head forever? Maya: Think of me as a really informed inner voice.

Panel 5:Insert shot: Midnight Star's gloved fist clenches, then opens. The black and gold suit ripples — and in a blink, she is back in her white top and blue shorts. Tamara Collins again, sitting on the bed.

Maya: Oh — and you can drop the suit. Just think it off.

Panel 6:Tamara Collins looks down at herself in her regular clothes, a short surprised laugh on her face.

Tamara Collins: That is genuinely the coolest thing I've ever done. Maya: Wait until you see what else you can do.

PAGE 3

Panel 1:Exterior establishing shot: a wide street in a rough Los Angeles neighborhood at dusk. Graffiti-tagged walls, a closed corner store, two groups of people in heavy jackets facing each other across the road — a standoff. Police sirens wail in the far distance.

Narrator:Across the city — a powder keg about to blow.

Panel 2:Ground level shot between the two groups. A metal chain with skull motifs snaps down hard onto the asphalt between them — the chain buries a crack in the road. Both groups flinch back.

Panel 3:Death Skull steps out of the alley shadow between the two groups. Black tactical gear, white skull mask, a three-way crossbow held loosely at her side, metal skull chains looped at her hip. She is calm, unhurried.

Death Skull: Gentlemen. You're about to make a very expensive mistake.

Panel 4:Close-up on the skull mask — white ceramic, hollow eye holes, a thin crack along the cheekbone from a past fight. Utterly expressionless.

Death Skull: Someone paid me to make sure this war starts tonight.

Panel 5:Wide shot: Death Skull raises the three-way crossbow in one smooth motion, pointing it at neither group in particular — just into the air between them. Three bolt tips gleam.

PAGE 4

Panel 1:Tamara Collins sits at her dorm desk, laptop open, textbooks spread around her. She stares at the screen without reading. A police scanner app on her phone lights up beside the laptop.

Panel 2:Close-up on the phone screen: a red banner reads 'GANG INCIDENT — SHOTS FIRED — SOUTH LA'. Tamara's fingers tighten around the phone.

Maya: You're already looking at it. That's not a coincidence.

Panel 3:Tamara stands up from the desk, chair scraping back. Her jaw is set, decision made. She faces the window — the city glittering below.

Tamara Collins: People could get hurt. Maya: Yes. Which is why you're going.

Panel 4:Black and gold energy erupts across Tamara's body — the Midnight Star costume forming in a swirl of power. She says the phrase Obsidian unite’, her white top and blue shorts vanish under the suit. The eye mask locks into place last.

Panel 5:Midnight Star stands at the open window, one boot on the sill, the Los Angeles skyline behind her. She looks out at the city below, gold trim gleaming.

Midnight Star: Okay, Maya. Talk me through this. Maya: I've got you. Let's go.

PAGE 5

Panel 1:Full-page-wide panel: Midnight Star leaps off the dorm building rooftop in a soaring arc, arms out, the black and gold costume trailing energy. The Los Angeles skyline stretches behind her, city lights glittering below. She is small against the vast urban sky.

Narrator:For the first time — she flies.

Panel 2:Midnight Star descends fast, dropping toward the street below. She can see the standoff — two groups of people and a figure in a skull mask in the center, lit by flickering streetlights.

Maya: The figure in the mask — she's the one escalating this. Mercenary. Dangerous. Don't underestimate her.

Panel 3:Street level: Death Skull has one of the gang members lifted off the ground by the skull chain wrapped around his arm. Both gangs watch. Then — a golden streak of light drops from the sky and lands hard in the street between Death Skull and the gangs. Asphalt cracks under the impact.

Panel 4:Death Skull releases the chain. She turns slowly to face Midnight Star, skull mask blank and unreadable. The three-way crossbow rises.

Death Skull: A hero. How inconvenient.

Panel 5:Midnight Star stands her ground, fists raised, gold energy crackling along her knuckles. She faces Death Skull across the cracked asphalt.

Midnight Star: Walk away. Now. Death Skull: I don't think you know what you're getting into, little star.

PAGE 6

Panel 1:Death Skull fires the three-way crossbow — three bolts fan out in a wide spread toward Midnight Star. The bolts glow faintly with a yellow chemical tip.

Panel 2:Midnight Star dives sideways — two bolts crack into the brick wall behind her, one grazes her shoulder, tearing a small line through the gold trim. She hits the ground in a roll.

Maya: Chemical tips — don't let them break skin. Move!

Panel 3:Midnight Star comes up from the roll into a sprint directly at Death Skull. Gold energy flares along her arms and legs as she charges.

Panel 4:Death Skull swings the skull chain in a wide arc — it catches Midnight Star across the midsection and wraps around her torso, yanking her off her feet. Death Skull plants her boots and hauls back on the chain.

Death Skull: Brave. Stupid — but brave.

Panel 5:Close-up on Midnight Star's masked face — jaw set, eyes fierce. Gold energy builds visibly in her eyes behind the mask.

Midnight Star: Maya — can I blast through this chain? Maya: Yes. Focus the energy to your core. Now!

Panel 6:Midnight Star's entire body erupts in a pulse of gold and black energy — a circular shockwave blasts outward. The skull chain shatters into pieces. Death Skull is thrown backward off her feet.

PAGE 7

Panel 1:Death Skull hits the ground and rolls, coming up in a crouch. Chain fragments scatter around her. She looks up at Midnight Star — even behind the skull mask, her body language reads as calculating.

Panel 2:Death Skull pulls a second skull chain from her belt and begins to swing it slowly in a wide circle above her head.

Death Skull: You blew through my chain. Interesting. Let's see how you handle two.

Panel 3:Midnight Star plants her feet wide, both arms raised and glowing. She glances up — both gangs are still on the edges of the street, watching. Several people in the background are filming on phones.

Maya: The gangs haven't run. They're watching you. Win this — and they might stand down on their own.

Panel 4:Death Skull releases the chain at Midnight Star's feet — it wraps around her ankles. Midnight Star stumbles forward, dropping to one knee.

Panel 5:From her kneeling position, Midnight Star drives both palms flat into the asphalt. A shockwave of gold energy ripples outward along the ground — it hits the chain and the chain springs loose, flying away.

Midnight Star: I'm getting better at this.

PAGE 8

Panel 1:Midnight Star rises to her full height. She and Death Skull are ten feet apart in the street. Both of them breathing hard. Death Skull reloads the three-way crossbow with one hand — smooth, practiced.

Death Skull: You're new at this. I can tell. Midnight Star: New enough to have stopped you twice.

Panel 2:Death Skull fires the crossbow again — but Midnight Star is already moving. She leaps straight up, the three bolts passing beneath her feet, embedding in the road.

Panel 3:Midnight Star comes down from the leap with both fists hammering into the ground in front of Death Skull — another energy burst, this one concentrated forward. It blows Death Skull's feet out from under her and sends the crossbow skidding across the asphalt.

Panel 4:Death Skull lies flat on her back on the asphalt, the skull mask staring up at the sky. The crossbow is ten feet away. Midnight Star stands over her, one boot on the ground beside Death Skull's arm, fist raised and glowing.

Midnight Star: It's over. Stay down.

Panel 5:Wide shot of the whole street. Both gangs stand on the sidewalks, staring at Midnight Star standing over Death Skull. Nobody moves. The tension has drained out of the standoff.

Narrator:The war that hadn't started — didn't.

PAGE 9

Panel 1:Death Skull rolls sideways — fast. She grabs something from her belt: a small smoke canister. She slams it against the ground.

Death Skull: This isn't over, little star.

Panel 2:Thick black smoke explodes outward. Midnight Star throws up an arm to shield her masked face. When the smoke clears seconds later, Death Skull is gone — the crossbow left behind on the asphalt.

Maya: She's gone. She escaped through the alley. Midnight Star: Let her go — for now.

Panel 3:Midnight Star turns to face both gangs on the sidewalks. She stands straight, hands at her sides, no longer glowing — just a figure in black and gold in the street.

Midnight Star: Go home. Both of you. Tonight's not worth it.

Panel 4:The gang members on both sides exchange looks with each other. Then — slowly, in ones and twos — they begin to drift away down the sidewalk, hands in pockets, not looking back.

Panel 5:Close-up on Midnight Star's masked face looking down the now-empty street. Her shoulders drop slightly — visible relief in the posture.

Maya: You did it, Tamara. Your first save. Midnight Star: We did it.

PAGE 10

Panel 1:Rooftop of a building overlooking the street. Midnight Star lands lightly on the ledge and sits, legs dangling over the edge. The city glitters below her. The crossbow Death Skull left behind is tucked under her arm.

Narrator:High above the city she's just started to protect.

Panel 2:Close-up on Midnight Star's gloved hand turning the recovered crossbow over, examining the three-bolt mechanism. It is built with precision — not a street weapon.

Maya: That crossbow is custom-built. Professional work. Midnight Star: Someone hired her. Someone wanted that war to happen.

Panel 3:Wide shot of Midnight Star on the rooftop ledge, the vast Los Angeles skyline spreading behind her into the distance. She is a small figure against the enormous city.

Maya: This is bigger than one street fight. You know that. Midnight Star: Yeah. I know.

Panel 4:Midnight Star stands on the rooftop ledge, the crossbow set down at her feet. She straightens up, arms at her sides, facing the city. The gold trim of her costume catches the light.

Midnight Star: Death Skull will be back. Maya: And when she is — we'll be ready.

Panel 5:Final panel: extreme wide shot. Midnight Star leaps off the rooftop ledge in a soaring arc over the glittering city. A trail of black and gold energy streams behind her as she vanishes into the night sky.

Narrator:The star is born. And the city will never be the same.
