Tru, a grizzled Army veteran turned barber, runs a military-themed barbershop in the city by day. By night, he operates as a vigilante driven by a personal code of justice. When the criminal organization led by Juan Pablo and his enforcer Gaylord begins terrorizing the neighborhood—extorting shop owners and threatening innocent lives—Tru mobilizes his wife Adaijah and best friend Dean, fellow veterans, to form a crime-fighting trio. The issue establishes Tru's unshakeable moral compass and his willingness to cross legal lines to protect those he loves, culminating in a confrontation that sets the tone for his mission: justice will be served, by any means necessary.

Panel 1:A wide establishing shot of Tru's Barbershop storefront on a city street. The shop window displays vintage barber poles, military flags, and framed photos of soldiers. The awning reads 'TRU'S BARBERSHOP' in bold letters. Morning sunlight casts sharp shadows across the sidewalk. The street is quiet, a few pedestrians passing by. Tru stands inside behind the counter, polishing clippers, his muscular frame visible through the glass. A tattoo is visible on his right forearm.
Narrator:“The city wakes. But some never sleep.”
Panel 2:Inside the barbershop. Tru stands at the counter, setting down his clippers. The walls are lined with military memorabilia—framed photos of soldiers, dog tags hanging from a display, a vintage helmet on a shelf. The barber chairs are red leather with chrome fittings. A customer, an older Black man, sits in one chair reading a newspaper. Dean enters through the door, tall with blue eyes, carrying two tacos. He's wearing a casual jacket.
“Dean: Morning, T-shizzle. Got your usual.”
Panel 3:Close-up of Tru's face. His expression is stern but not unkind. He glances at Dean with a slight grimace, taking the coffee.
“Tru: Dean. How many times I gotta tell you? I hate that nickname.”
Panel 4:Dean grins, unaffected by Tru's complaint. He sets his own coffee down on the counter near the register. Behind them, the customer reads his newspaper, oblivious to their exchange.
“Dean: That's exactly why I keep saying it. Keeps you sharp.”
Panel 5:The shop door swings open. Adaijah enters, her long dark hair catching the light, her blue eyes alert and serious. She's carrying a folder. She walks directly to Tru, her movements purposeful.
Panel 6:Adaijah stands before Tru and Dean, opening the folder to reveal photographs and documents. Her face is tight with concern. Tru and Dean lean in to look. The customer in the chair glances over briefly, then returns to his newspaper.
“Adaijah: They hit Marcus Chen's grocery store last night. Demanded protection money.”

Panel 1:Tru's hand slams down on the counter, his jaw clenched. The folder shakes with the impact. His brown eyes are hard and focused. Behind him, military photos on the wall seem to echo his determination.
“Tru: This is the third shop this month.”
Panel 2:Dean paces toward the window, his tall frame silhouetted against the street view. He looks out at the neighborhood, his blue eyes tracking movement on the street.
“Dean: It's organized. Same crew every time. They're bold.”
Panel 3:Adaijah taps the folder with her finger, pointing to a photograph of two men—one with short brown hair and brown eyes (Juan Pablo), the other tall with light brown hair and blue eyes (Gaylord). Her expression is determined.
“Adaijah: Juan Pablo and Gaylord. They're running this operation.”
Narrator:“Names. Faces. Targets.”
Panel 4:Tru and Dean exchange a look—a silent understanding between two veterans. No words needed. Tru's hand moves to his tattoo on his right forearm, a habitual gesture. Behind them, Adaijah closes the folder with quiet finality.
Panel 5:The older customer stands up from the barber chair, finished with his cut. He places cash on the counter and nods to Tru. He's unaware of the conversation that just occurred. He heads toward the door to leave.
PAGE 3
Panel 1:Tru stands alone behind the counter after the customer leaves. The shop is now empty except for the three of them. Tru's expression is resolute. He reaches beneath the counter and pulls out a black tactical jacket. His movements are deliberate and practiced.
“Tru: We handle this ourselves. Tonight.”
Panel 2:Close-up of Adaijah's face. Her blue eyes are fierce and unwavering. She nods once, sharply. There is no hesitation in her expression—only commitment.
“Adaijah: I'm with you.”
Panel 3:Dean moves to stand beside Tru. He places a hand on Tru's shoulder. His expression mirrors the determination of the others—a veteran's resolve.
“Dean: Always have your back, brother.”
Panel 4:Wide shot of all three standing together in the center of the barbershop. The military memorabilia on the walls surrounds them like silent witnesses. Their silhouettes are strong and unified. The morning light from the window creates a sense of purpose and determination.
Narrator:“Justice doesn't wait for permission. It answers to conscience.”
PAGE 4
Panel 1:Night falls. A narrow alley behind a row of shops. The street lamps cast pools of yellow light. Shadows stretch long across the pavement. Tru, Adaijah, and Dean move through the darkness in tactical gear, moving with military precision. They're positioned strategically along the alley wall.
Narrator:“The night belongs to those willing to own it.”
Panel 2:A close-up of Tru's face in profile. His jaw is set. His brown eyes are focused and alert. Sweat beads on his forehead from the tension. Behind him, the alley stretches into darkness.
Panel 3:Headlights appear at the far end of the alley. A black van slows and stops. The side door slides open. Juan Pablo emerges first—short brown hair, brown eyes, calculating expression. Gaylord follows, tall with light brown hair and blue eyes, moving with arrogant confidence. Two armed thugs exit behind them.
Panel 4:Tru steps out from the shadows directly into Juan Pablo's path. His hands are raised in a non-threatening gesture, but his body language is completely commanding. Adaijah and Dean emerge from opposite sides of the alley, flanking the criminals.
“Tru: This operation ends tonight.”
Panel 5:Gaylord laughs—a harsh, confident sound. He takes a step toward Tru, his hand moving toward a weapon at his hip. Juan Pablo watches, calculating the situation.
“Gaylord: You picked the wrong fight.”
PAGE 5
Panel 1:Tru moves with explosive speed. His fist connects with Gaylord's jaw in a brutal punch. Gaylord's head snaps back. His blue eyes go wide with shock. Spittle flies from his mouth. The alley erupts into violence.
Panel 2:Adaijah engages one of the thugs, her movements fluid and practiced. She deflects his punch and counters with a strike to his ribs. Dean tackles the second thug against the van wall with controlled aggression. Juan Pablo backs away, pulling a gun from his jacket.
Panel 3:Juan Pablo raises the gun, aiming at Tru. His brown eyes are cold and calculated. His finger tightens on the trigger.
“Juan Pablo: You just made a fatal mistake.”
Panel 4:Adaijah sees the gun. She breaks from her fight and launches herself toward Juan Pablo, her body flying through the air in a desperate tackle. Her long dark hair streams behind her. Juan Pablo's shot goes wild, ricocheting off the alley wall with a sharp metal ping.
PAGE 6
Panel 1:Tru stands over Gaylord, who is on his knees, blood dripping from his mouth. Gaylord's arrogance is shattered. His bulging blue eyes are watery and defeated. Tru's fist is clenched, ready to strike again if needed. His expression is cold and final.
“Tru: You prey on the innocent. That ends now.”
Panel 2:Dean pins the second thug against the van. The thug's face is pressed against the cold metal. Dean's tall frame looms over him, his blue eyes hard and unforgiving.
“Dean: Tell your boss: this neighborhood is protected.”
Panel 3:Adaijah stands over Juan Pablo, who is sprawled on the ground, the gun several feet away from his reach. Her blue eyes are blazing. Her long dark hair is disheveled from the fight. She's breathing hard but in complete control.
“Adaijah: Your protection racket is finished.”
Panel 4:The three stand together in the alley, the criminals defeated and subdued around them. Their breathing is heavy from the fight. Their tactical gear is torn and dirty. Sirens wail in the distance—police responding to the gunshot. Tru looks at Adaijah and Dean. No words are needed.
“Adaijah: Taco’s?”
Narrator:“Justice served. The night remembers.”
PAGE 7
Panel 1:The next morning. Tru's Barbershop is quiet and peaceful. The sun streams through the windows. Tru stands behind the counter, polishing clippers again—a ritual return to normalcy. His tattoo is visible on his right forearm. The military memorabilia on the walls catches the morning light.
Narrator:“The city wakes again. Some never stop fighting.”
Panel 2:Dean enters through the door, carrying two coffee cups again. Behind him, Marcus Chen—the grocery store owner from the photos—enters as well. Marcus is shaking Tru's hand gratefully. His face shows relief and appreciation.
“Marcus: Thank you. We can sleep now. We can breathe.”
Panel 3:Tru nods, accepting the gratitude with quiet dignity. He gestures to the barber chair. Marcus sits down. Tru begins setting up to give him a haircut—the normal service, the normal life, continuing alongside the extraordinary justice.
“Tru: That's what we do. We protect home.”
Panel 4:Adaijah enters the shop through the back door. She carries fresh supplies and moves with the ease of someone who belongs here. She places her hand on Tru's shoulder as he works. The three—Tru, Adaijah, and Dean—share a moment of quiet understanding. The camera pulls back slightly.
PAGE 8
Panel 1:A final wide shot of Tru's Barbershop from the street. The sun is high and bright. The storefront looks inviting and safe. Customers move in and out. Through the window, Tru can be seen cutting hair, Adaijah organizing supplies, and Dean chatting with customers. The military memorabilia is visible on the walls. The shop is a sanctuary.
Narrator:“A barber by day. A protector by night. One man's code. One neighborhood's hope.”
Panel 2:Close-up of Tru's face as he focuses on his work, cutting a customer's hair with precision and care. His brown eyes are calm but alert. His expression shows the duality of his life—barber and vigilante, protector and craftsman.
Narrator:“Tru is his name. Justice is his purpose.”
Panel 3:A final panel showing the military photos on the shop walls. Dog tags hang from a display. A vintage helmet sits on a shelf. American flag in the corner. These are the symbols of sacrifice and duty that guide Tru's every action—both in the chair and in the streets.
