Dashtoon Studio, Dashtoon’s AI comic creator, shut down on 15 August 2026 and is no longer available, according to Dashtoon’s own site; creation has moved to Frameo, its new platform for AI video and short drama. ComicInk still makes comics: you type a story idea, it writes the panel-by-panel script, and it draws and letters every page with the same characters throughout, in 12 art styles and a vertical webcomic size. Choose Frameo to stay with Dashtoon’s team and make AI video; choose ComicInk to keep making comic pages.

| Status | Shut down on 15 August 2026; no longer available. | Open to new accounts. |
| Where creation went | Frameo, Dashtoon’s new platform for AI video and short drama. | Comics and story videos in the same app. |
| How comics were made | A framework or blank canvas, an editable panel-by-panel screenplay, text-to-image and inpainting. | Type a story idea; AI writes a panel-by-panel script for the whole comic, which you can edit, then draws and letters every page. |
| Consistent characters | Characters trained from a sketch, an image or text, plus a library of ready-made characters. | Each character’s reference pictures and written look go into every page, so the cast keeps the same face and outfit. Nothing to train. |
| Page formats | Comics published to Dashtoon’s own reader platform. | Standard comic, manga, graphic novel or a tall vertical webcomic page (9:16). |
| Publishing | Published directly on Dashtoon’s platform. | Publish to the public gallery, or sell issues in your own Creator Store and keep 70% of each sale. |
| Ownership | Its terms say you keep your rights in what you submit, while granting Dashtoon a broad licence to it. | You own the comics you make and may sell them, on every plan, including free. |
| Price | Its plans page can no longer be read. | 100 free credits once at signup, no card. Then plans from $9.99/month; a drawn page is 50 credits, whatever its panel count. |
